they do stick to one language...

actually, Veinti IS spanish for twenty.

That's where the movie is wrong.

Venti is Italian for twenty, and Veinti is Spanish for twenty.

starbucks most likley uses Venti for the ease of pronounciation.

Well, Pilão has a smooth and strong flavour (It's it slogan really) while Pimpinela Golden is more bold and "gourmet" quality.

The difference between the three qualities?

    Here: http://www.abic.com.br/gar_qualidade_nminimo.html

    Important part translated on Babelfish:

To define Minimum Level of Quality of the Coffee

The ABIC this considering to the federal, state and municipal organisms, as well as companies of the private sector, the adoption of criteria of minimum quality for the drink of the coffee in the licitations of the product with obedience to the rules of Law 8666/93. For in such a way, the organisms can adopt the NMQ equal or bigger the 4,5 points, or mention the superior categories to it of quality, as ahead indicated.

It is the global evaluation of all the sensorial characteristics of the product that will determine which the category it belongs (as table below). The traditional coffees must pass in the evaluation with equal or superior note the 4,5 (in a zero scale the ten). The products that start to receive the Symbol from Superior Quality are those that had gotten equal or superior note the 6,0 points and inferior the 7,3. Already the Symbol of Quality Gourmet, that detaches the Top line of the best coffees, will be conferred to the products that obtain equal or superior note the 7,3 up to 10,0 points.

    More complete on that link.

Wow, that's quite a stringent and complex grading system!

Wow, Red Stripe. I love their commercials. Short and to the point: "Red Stripe. It's beer!"

We have to buy from beer distributors here so it's not quite as convenient. Oh and we can't buy in small quantities unless there's a bar willing to sell you a six pack out the back door..

You can still get red stripe, though! And if you want it in smaller quantities, just go to NJ. Or just buy the larger quantity between friends and split it. Or drink the lot ;-)

I have been reliably informed that Suds in Bucks County will sell six packs, or even individual bottles.

Well, here we can go to a vending machine in the street and buy beer up till 11pm. After that we can still go down to the likes of 7 / 11 and but beer, wine, wiskey or what have you. I couldn't imagine not being able to go and buy a bear when you wanted to.

The fuck.. all I have here is vodka and rum and I honestly CANNOT get drunk.. I have no idea what's wrong with me, but it's pissing me off.

Yeah eastern Pennsylvania, I'll have to try and find some place around here that sells in small quantities. I think it's just easier for the distributor to force large sales on its patrons. Buying a case is a pain in the ass at times.

Yakumo stop making me jealous with your easy access to alcohol and used womens panties!

Butt beer? Reminds me of the butt chug off Jackass Number Two!

Well, I'd rather get the beers in first, but I guess after a few, buying a bear might sound like a good idea!

Ah, thought you were in Philly for some reason. Must have been someone else.

Dude, why are you complaining about having MORE beer??!?! What's wrong with you?!?! ;-)

This thread has stayed relatively on topic, not that the topic is worthwhile . Anyways, sticking with it, I just came back from Bali. I brought a few small bags of Balinese coffee. Its not bad:

Also, I thought this was pretty funny. Their local beer is a complete and utter rip-off of Heineken. The logo is pretty much exact. It's not too bad tasting either:

I dunno, Bintang sounds a bit too close to boontang for my liking!

Barc0de would probably like it, though :110:
