The Final Fantasy Series, specifically the black disk FF7. Goes for insane amounts though the prices have decreased somewhat with the PSN releases.
Hype, fanboys, and ebay ruined collecting for many consoles. That's why I stick to niche platforms. What drives me nuts is used game stores using Pricecharting as their standard for pricing everything. "OOOOHH Mario World loose with manual! It's nintendo it must be awesome I gotta have it! It's $40? Doesn't matter I gotta have it right now!"
Modern games lose value quickly because they don't have waves of deluded people worshiping them, and they usually way more dynamic and prettier.
it's freaky, really is. i'm sat on a potential goldmine, if i was to engage in online sales that is. true, the FF series is quite high on the price list, not seen it as much with platinum relzs. scored a complete copy of fear effect 2, original relz. for a gbp. (for the sake of double/possible FREE raffle at another forum?) may have mentioned on another thread? ... the DOA series is another, trying to complete my collection seems to be a no-go?! got: DOA, psx. DOA 2, dreamcast DOA ultimate, xbox (DOA 1 and 2 box set, with all trim) DOA 3, xbox DOAXBV, xbox ... at this point, why no 360 mention? because i can't afford DOA 4 and DOAXBV 2 for it, looking at 30gbp per pop at least. same for the psp DOAXBV, can't get near it. the games scored were cheap as chips at the time, many folks can't pay the exorbitant prices nowadays. did get a double-up of FF7 dirge of cerberus given, that gem goes for at least 20gbp still. ... a lot more games to add to the crazy-list, i'll quit now. :witless:
I have all of the DOA games except for the PSP one and DOA5 Ultimate. I don't have every version of each game, but I have at least one version of every game in the series. I have DOA5, even though I'm not of fan of that game.
^^ great, one to slip by me (DOA5 ultimate) thanks for the reminder. :smile-new: same here, just original relz, except no 360 relzs, yet. had look on youtube for DOA5, and the girls just don't have that 'x-factor' they once did. look totally different. (yes, my motives are shallow, i got em for the 'plot'...those DOA ladies can sure kick high! :witless: ) continuity of character appearance seems to have bottomed-out with 5...is how it looked my end. ... after seeing the video, i'm inclined to agree. pretending DOA5 doesn't exist, then it's not a loss not to have it in the stack...
come now, i see through that question. :witless: x-factor = the reason for getting them. (in laymens terms, the girls look tastier. there, said it.) [edit] have some radar rider by riggs!
Oh you mean the fan service. People who honestly enjoy that should simply search for rule 34 content on the web. Keep that shit out of my games.
^^ well, lucky for many of us, you're NOT the gaming police. :cocksure: and incase it escaped you, there's more than one type of game or genre, something for everybody. ... max payne pair for ps2/xbox is pricey, minimum 15gbp in some places!
:witless: so far, counted: 1, DOAXBV, xbox 2, DOAXBV 2, 360 3, DOAP, psp :smile-new: never got more than five minutes on a friends 360 relz, tried to borrow it, but one of his arms is fatter than the other, very protective over it. (don't blame him) did like what i saw on 360. if the quality remains, can never have too many DOAXBV games. ... LOTR set for ps2, xbox and ngc, 50gbp to start. (costaf*ckinpacket holiday resort) if hobbit is under the same branch as LOTR, that ranks in at 20gbp alone. ... oh, forgot to mention, have the ps2 relz of DOAH and it's platinum counterpart, can't tell the difference between them and the DC version. original DOAH version can start at 10gbp on a positive day...(not sure what the platinum versions worth, got it given)
There is a local chain near me that does this, although not sure if it uses Pricecharting specifically. They have prices on half their stuff. If you want to buy something without a price, they look it up somewhere. That's a turn off for me. No price, no buy.
I have that one, not new though. It's not a very good game, to be honest. Lots of eye candy, but the gameplay isn't very fun. As far as beach volleyball games go, Beach Spikers for the Naomi 2 and Gamecube is a lot more fun, and also has pretty good graphics.
Of course Beach Spikers is better than DOA Volleyball... It's an actual game! One that I would like to own again, actually. Glad you brought it up.
:smile-new: disk id: creepy. just got given a complete retail relz for ngc, dumping it now. it's okay, but being better than DOA is a matter of opinion. difference with this game, it's deliberate volleyball, stats an all. DOA is eye-candy, but that's why some got it, i know it's the sole reason i did. (leave it on demo, turn volume down, ladies bounce around, AWESOME screensaver) do like beach spikers from what i've seen (as a SPECIFIC sports title) DOA isn't trying to be sporty at all, it's a PACIFIER. (and bloody effective too) controls on b-s is a bit hard to get to grips with, but i'll manage, and grateful it's in my collection. outlaw volleyball for xbox is good, even if it has men in it.
It comes and goes. You're starting to see PS1 and PS2 games go up in price. I'm thinking this is as low as 360/PS3 games will go. 10 years from now they'll go up. Too bad. I picked up XVB2 (for the lulz) for $5 at Gamestop a month or so ago. I just checked and 4 is $5 too.
bit of a waste if it's 'for lulz'... still, you got a great deal there. :wink-new: ... was in CEX earlier, got my hopes up seeing a display case. item was listed at 10gbp, thought i was home-free... the staff lost the disk and user manual, what a disappointment. ... have fun on it!
