Was going to ask if we were going to see an explosion in GCN controller prices as I've seen the love for them grow, but those are still manufactured. Too bad I won't get to see used GCN controllers possibly go up to +$40. That would've been funny and shocking. I wonder if such a thing would happen with N64 ones if they weren't lackluster.
I know you can get third party ones new for cheap, but until the SSB ones come out, Nintendo ones are still expensive.
I was recently checking ebay for a GCN controller. And the prices are crazy ! I mean, you can buy a 1st party NES and SNES controller quite a bit cheaper at least on ebay UK. I ended up buying a 3rd party controller.
SNES and NES controllers I find to be a different story. The GCN controller is still useable in newer hardware, and Nintendo fans have been praising it more recently. People will bandwagon and cause prices to rise.
Most N64 games are bargain bin titles outside of 1st party/Rare stuff. Did someone already point that out? I'm too lazy to read through the previous pages. EDIT: Citation
I am not gonna bother to read the other pages either, I'm too lazy. So I'll just say, obviously it's been mentioned. Did you read any of the thread?
I'm just gonna go out on a limb and say everything on Gamecube. How on earth does a used copy of Wind Waker cost MORE on eBay than a brand new copy of the HD remake? I...I don't even.
I would stock up on Super Mario Galaxy's and The Legend of Zeldas for the Wii. In 5 - 10 years, you will probably have to pay $50 for a used Skyward sword.
I went into a 2nd hand game store once looking for a copy of GB Tetris, was told that "Oh, that game is quite rare, you'll have trouble finding it and it'll be expensive". *facepalm*
I try to avoid game stores for these reason. There is a flea market called 'el mundo' in my area; I can get original nes/snes/gc controllers all day for 5 bucks each.
Lucky you, in my country the only thing you can buy in a flea market 95% time are clothes. Another 4% is kids toys. And the remaining 1% is just useless junk.
Thanks, also it's actually closer to two thousand dollars, i've paid 399 Sterling Pounds when I was on London. Sony was a dumb f*ck, the only reason that you see many ps4 here is because there is the grey market and the fact that the PS4 had a positive image when it was announced and at the E3. Thanks, here is something funny, consoles and their games are taxed as a betting games ending more than 50% of the price in tax, while pc games are treated as software, thus very low tax. Funny that the portable consoles have actually lower tax from what i've saw on the tax list, it was something like 20-25%, but I don't see that praticed here. Leeme tell ya guys something. Brazil is like the 4th or 5th biggest vehicle market in the world, yet WE HAVE FEWER OPTIONS THAN OUR NEIGHBOOR COUNTRIES AND IT'S MORE EXPENSIVE. And why? In the case of price, goverment, but it's also the people lack of education, because the automakers simply get advantage of the situation and even get incentives from goverment, the cost is even kinda cheaper than outside, so they use the taxes as a scapegoat like other companies here. People think here that a car is an object to show off to other people to see how they are badass and rich, they make their neighboor grass green, yet their cars are shitty and even worse versions from global models. In fact a lot of people are simply poor and can't afford even the maintenance, so they end with debts and have their cars took from the bank. They only see if the the installment cost is enough for their pocket, they don't see that the final price if they manage to finally to pay their debt, the car cost was simply the double off its price in sight. Not only this, Brazil has the record of having the most expensive and shitty cars, only the first day of this year that automakers were forced to make cars with 2 Airbags and ABS as standard, otherwise cars like Uno and Kombi (Transporter T2) would still be on the market, people here doesn't want to take care of their vehicles, that's why old imported cars are considered "bombas" (Bombs) because they have to use imported parts, and most of them are either waste or in bad condition, we had even more locally manufactured options here in the 90s. But the HUE BRBRBR wants the old as fuck AP engine (VW 70s OHC water cooled) 8v and similars as long they are reliable with their negligence, for example, Chevrolet wanted to bring the Cruze in the turbo version, but most people still wanted the 80s Family 2 2.0 8V from Monza, so they decided to bring the ecotec 1.8 16v. Things are stating to change around here, but lets see if people will be ignorant fucks again. In a nutshell, the dumb people makes the cars expensive and the automakers profit from it, even other type of business, same thing occur to those commom games, as long there are people paying for it, it won't change.
The Orange Box was critically panned because of poor performance, even though it's quite playable. It was the first time I beat HL2 and its expansions. That caused the print numbers to be short, it's not exactly a rare game but still. Also this game can be used to unglitch Mercenaries 2 on PS3 (which locks up if you're online because it can't download the TOS from EA's servers for some reason, while TF2 from the Orange Box does it normally and saves it in a common place for all EA apps to access). I know because at first I bought it because of that only.
Anything Pokemon, Mario, Zelda in Singapore is overpriced, even if the games are release 2years back. Its otherwise for metal gear solid, resident evil, final fantasy where the price is dirt cheap... Yeah Sony are cheap while Nintendo games are more expensive here.
Oh anything first party Nintendo is overpriced. The oldest Pokemon games are still over $20 for a loose cart, Super Mario Bros (in any form, and just about the least rare NES game) is usually over $5, the N64 Zelda games are close to the most expensive games on the system, it's a mess.
Everyone is talking about the games, I'd like to get on the soap box and ask about the stinking dust covers.... NES and SNES every single game ever sold had one they should super easy to get... but NES you are looking at 1-2$/ea and SNES 4-5$/ea this is insane. I just went through cleaning a bunch of games I got in a lot half were too dirty to work and now I want to keep them clean but I don't want to pay 100$ to do it..
I have a feeling 80% of them were thrown out, like the box and, to a lesser extent, the instruction manual. Not saying they shouldn't be super cheap, since more than a few people are making new ones, but I can see why they aren't, especially since everything NES/SNES is getting overpriced.
