  2. Up until recently Factor 5 had a teaser for Thornado on their website for current projects. I noticed they gave their website an overhaul and it's now missing. :(

a N64 release would be so cool but beta games are very rare compared to PSX or Dreamcast ... :( and some games was finished but not released (how it is stupid !!!!) (40 Winks, ODT for instance)

i could even send a cheap dumper (it can only dump) to dump n64 beta games if somebody have a beta and could not release a dump because he can't dump.

If anyone here is in San Francisco and has the means of dumping a Genesis prototype, I know someone with an unreleased game who's willing to drive to your pad and let you do it.

  5. ...Hmmm that reminds me, there's nothing worse than not being able to have a dump.

    :D

for CDs it's easy but for cartbridge, utmost N64, it's less easy to have a dumper. But except if someone have a N64 beta to release here ...

all cartbriges can break (or steal by a burglar, whatever ...) and if it's an unreleased prototype it'll be lost forever. Really dangerous to not be able to backup !!!!

Out of all the games that Square never released in Europe it's kind of strange that Einhander would have made it that far along.

I wish I could help, but I neither have prototypes or a way to dump them. The only thing I can dump are Gamecube discs.

To dump would be to copy the game from its original media (cd, cart) and transfer it to a computer....where it could be uploaded to the internet. A game cannot be completed without it's source code, though.

Oh thx but if you uploaded it onto the internet wouldn't it include the source code?

    >>Same with this one, and Virtual Hamster as well.

Is there interest in this one? I thought it had been dumped already. I own a copy of it, I could try and crack er open and see if I can dump it. The game isnt complete, you can run around the maze, see other animals in the maze and pass them, and even pick up power ups (which dont do anything). There's no point to the game yet though, there's no goal to reach (as far as I can tell) so you just run around. Pretty neat graphics though.

  18. What system is it for? I'm sure people will want it.

    No.

Let me simplify. Imagine a program on your computer....lets say Microsoft Paint.

What you get is an .exe file, and excutable file that you just click, and it runs. That file is written (programmed...it looks like a big, long, confusing, text file: This is the source code) and then compiled (made into the program you can run on your computer).

Video games are done the same way. They are programmed on a development system (usually some kind of computer) and then compiled. What you get in the package when you buy a game is compiled, debugged code, ready to run on your playstation, n64, NES, etc. The source code (you know, that big goofy text file they change around to make the game what it is) stays with the developer, while you get the complete game.

    Got it?

PS: I don't think Virtual Hamster has been released, in fact, I didn't even know anyone had it. I'd like to see some nice screengrabs of it.
