You guys are flaming lunatics! I'm sad to hear of an animal being hurt. How was the leg re-broken? A leg doesn't heal that fast. The vet will just reset the leg, won't he? Certainly don't try to kill it yourself!
The vet took a look, the cat has what amount to a giant muscle cramp due to the surgery. Her leg was basically trying to wrap itself around the cat's back.. crazy stuff. I decided to board her for 2-3 weeks as she can get pain killers every few hours. I don't know if any of you have heard an animal scream in pain, but it's a terrible thing, and to hear that all night... It was so bad I took some relaxers and drinks the whole next day just to forget. Anyway, back to normal here and progressing with my much delayed sale..
Well I got to experience this several times, I had cats for most of my life, so I can imagine what you went through, I use to live nearby a (not supposed to be) busy road in France and a few of my cats got run over by cars and when they call you for help screaming it's really awful especially when you know you can't do anything... as a result I hated cars until I got my license...and people driving them and not stoping...don't tell you don't hear or feel anything when you hit a cat... I'm glad you didn't put the poor kiddie to sleep, side effects of surgery can be surprising, it's probably best to restrain her movement for a few weeks and then she'll be good a new!!! And don't worry about the sale there are more important stuff!!!
If its like here you need a change of law as if you run over a cat legally you can just carry on. Cunts trick I know but you cant force them to stop.
Only if its a cat. Dogs and Horses if there is no one around you have to report it (not sure on other pets). I guess the car insurance folk too would want you to report its to combat fraud. As said before say your dog wasn't on a lead (leash) and ran out into the road in front of my car I could claim off you for damage to the car.
Cats run out in front of cars. If it was me, I'd try to find the owner, but I can understand the law in that case. Certainly you shouldn't be liable for the death.
Sorry to hear about your misfortune, Kev. Yes, an animal in pain is a truly heartbreaking sound. Talking of which, I don't think you could break a bone without feeling it - therefore the cat would have felt it. And screamed. There's no way you can miss a cat screaming. Oh, and you feel it when you stand on them, too. At best, they run off quickly. You notice. I hope she makes a quick recovery. A shame the same can't be said for your wallet!
Back at home! 1. Removal of pin from first operation 2. Insertion of new tiny pins I'm very happy to have her back home. I am also very very poor now. Poor girl has to wear the head cone for ten more days. She's absolutely filthy..
The head cone shoud be really annoying for a cat, I presume even more than for a dog...she will not be able to clean the fur! Good news anyway.
I am relieved to see that your cat will get better. Let's hope someone does something to the lady that prevents her from doing likewise. Good luck with the sale, Assembler-sama. And a quick recovery to your kitty. (I love my cats like they were my children. I know what you're going through, man...)
Poor cat. A friends cat had one of those cones on it's head after a operation and it had such a hard time b\c it couldn't do things it were used to, as the cone was always in the way.
