Same thing happened with me and Minecraft. I still don't get the appeal, and I've played it on 3 different platforms.

I recall alot of hate and bad reviews about RE: ORC but I too enjoyed playing that game. I played through it with friends, it may not have been much fun without them.

That's where Destiny might be playable for me. Having some of your friends to play with you whenever you play certainly helps. But I'm still not interested.

Why was it everyone hated Resident Evil Operation Racoon City? It looks okay, one reason i can think of is probably long time fans & old schoolers hating on the new play style

I agree with you 100%, bot implementation is a tough situation, probably more than damage scaling, weapon balance, and map design. Especially hard when trying to adapt them to user created maps. However, Halo's multiplayer isn't some slapped on bullet-point afterthought; it's a portion of the game that has equal (more?) devotion of resources than the single player aspect and definitely more commercial hype put into it. It can be generalized that the game sells on multiplayer alone and definitely said it's sold on multiplayer more than single player.

A triple-AAA zillion dollar production is going to be held to different standards and expect to deliver a bit more than bargin-bin releases or shit made from a dozen-man development team 20 years ago. Your statement implies that all bots ever are either too stupid/hard, yet almost all PC competitive FPS releases have bots. Even on consoles the mighty CoD removed it's head from it's anus and included bots from Black Ops onward. Would the resources needed to put bots in Halo result in an equal amount of financial gain? Probably not. Is Halo somehow leagues deeper gameplay-wise from other competitive games (FPS or otherwise) that your brain would melt before you could program bots for it? Absolutely not.

I agree 100%. It could be a completely real situation that they refused to half-ass do it, so they didn't do it at all (for the past 14 years!?!). Does that make lack of that feature above criticism? SNK is notorious for having shit net code and gamers and critics will say this. These complaints are nothing compared to when they toss out a game with no netplay. Could SNK reply, "But guys, net code is haaard!" or "We spent so much time programming the pinnacle alpha-omega of fighting gameplay engines that we didn't have time for proper netcode."

I can't always agree with this. But Destiny always looked boring, derivative and uninteresting to me. Not to mention I loathe Bungie in so many ways after how they treated Halo.

I've gotten to level 20 and now have to deal with the armor leveling BS. Now I need to do heroic strikes to get good gear, but you need good gear to do the heroic strikes. I'll probably finish up the story and trade/sell it away in the next week or so.

I'm feeling some sweet sweet love in this thread!

Co-op with friends, pretty much any mode, and the game is even more awesome!!

Hope I get Raid gauntlets this weekend, then level 30 here I come!!!

Alright alright...bloody hell 7Force! Calm your silly little ass down!

Density been out for over month now. Everybody knows how how bad it is. It is your fault by not doing the research before you buy the game in the first place. I have not play the game yet and I doubt I will due to negativity reviews couple weeks ago. Of course Halo 4 is better but hell, original Halo is still perfect in my opinion.

Don't buy the game until you read the review and opinions. I normally buy the game a year late so that way the updates/DLC and bugs and glitches are fixed by then.

Calm down dear, it's only a commercial.

Edit - At least 7Force came to his opinion by playing Destiny...

    *Sigh*

How about you pipe the fuck down? Don't go around dictating that someone is not entitled to complain about a game which was advertised in a way that could imply it to be something completely different. There is absolutely no need to exaggerate by "Everybody knows how how bad it is". You don't have any authority to claim this or speak on behalf of "Everyone" to confirm that "Everybody" already knows to imply this thread or "rant" is useless. The purpose is simply to warn people not to buy this game, if you don't like it then don't post about something you clearly know nothing about. You're also out of order for saying it's his fault for "not doing research". I don't think so, I bet there's many people who avoid reviews/previews in fear of spoilers or other reasons. Reviews also have problems with sometimes being too biased. Everyone else has their own opinions so the opinion of the review is not very likely to be your own 100% of the time. I quite enjoyed the beta, but the fact the game consists of playing the same missions over and over again is just like a form of mental torture. The only one at fault is Bungie for creating a game with frustrating moments such as having to rely on getting friends just to play it due to lack of matchmaking. The game offers VERY little content and gets boring too quickly. If you buy your games after reading reviews and when they're a year old then fair enough. Other people do things differently in their lives so accept that and stop being unnecessarily rude.

    Regards.

I never understood that day one craze. Games/hardware are nothing like some some kind of insanely complex and expensive dish that won't last for more than a few hours so you just have to eat it NOW. I call it a "lab rat instinct" - inexplicable urge to test everything at full price just to get some bugged mobile phone that will cost 30% lower three weeks later and will get hardware and software bugs fixed. Same with game pre-order - OMG!1111 exclusive pre-order game item - a green bandana that does nothing, it's just green. -10% price... a month later it will be -75% sale. If not Complete Absolute Magnificent Game of the Century Edition that includes over9000 DLCs for just $10.

I wish they still did that, it seems the GOTY/Platinum/Greatest Hits versions of games STILL don't have the DLC anymore.

I know a lot of people want to experience the story without spoilers, and that's ok, but I don't pre-order games unless I think whatever version will sell out (I pre-ordered Rock Band 2 because finding a full set of the first one was just about impossible by then)

My last day one purchase mistake was Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (PS3).

I was so excited that Capcom got all the licensing problems sorted and managed to revived the series. 2 was so good that 3 was at least worth a shot, right?

I unlocked all the characters and awaited the chance of having more characters possibly return via DLC or something and then... "ULTIMATE Marvel vs. Capcom 3 ANNOUNCED"

Within a year of the original game's release, everyone flocked to UMvC3 and the original game's servers and support were next to dead. $60 + tax down the drain (aside from a few one-off local 2P matches).

    Damn you, Capcom.

Am I one of those people that liked all of the Halo games (except Halo Wars) and also enjoys Destiny? I don't have TV so I don't watch commercials and I never go into Gamestop so I never experience hype. I saw what was presented at E3 and then a month ago I got a PS4. I needed a game to play. I remembered I like what I saw with Destiny at E3 and I knew that I enjoyed previous Halo entries. So I bought it, I'm playing it, I'm having a good time and I didn't base my purchase on anything other than my own opinions and needs.

Amen, some sense in the thread finally.

Waiting on reviews is an utterly worthless exercise these days.

In other news, got the last piece of Raid armour I need for my 1st character, so will be level 30 Titan today at some point!

My PS4 Destiny bundle, after the vat refund, costed 350 Euros. That's just a bit more than a standard PS3 sold around here.

So good or not, i really don't care, since the game was pratically free. Still i wouldn't mind playing it with some of you guys, when it finally arrives.

Also. Its very similar to Phantasy Star Online. So if you hate Destiny you by proxy hate PSO. See Exhibit A http://trib.al/A7RRtP5

My roommate seems to like it. I watched a few minutes and looked okay. Due to all that hype there was bound to be some backlash. The game could be next to perfect and there would still be those pointing out its faults, and the opposite as well. I will agree this new console generation seems to be delivering underwhelming games, though. At the end of the day reviews will almost always be a one-person perspective. Can't say they'll preach to everyone.

My problem with Minecraft is that I'm not creative... like honestly.. I am a programmer you give me a problem and I'll break it down and give you a solution... you ask me advice on color scheme on website and you will likely think I'm colorblind.

I enjoyed Minecraft a bit while doing replications, I made a version of the tower of orthanc from the LoTR movies and had a lot of fun doing it. I made a few copy-ideas that I'd seen elsewhere but quickly got bored and stopped. It was fun to login to the server I hosted and see what my friends came up with but I never had much more inclination to play.

I think it's about the same as early games on most systems. We're comparing games for the 360/PS3 where the devs have had 8-9 years to get all they can out of the systems to consoles which, the devs may have had a kit for 2 years, tops. This is honestly the first wave of games that are being developed for eighth gen first, instead of seventh gen with enhanced versions on the XB1/PS4.

My biggest achievement was building a house.

More like a three story building, but whatever.
