i didnt create this patch i simply extract the patched 1st_read.bin from a pached cdi correct lba hack it using @-=FamilyGuy=- selfboot tools and
i put it in a clean gdi dump. the end result is a fully working vga gdi without downsampled video and audio bullshits like the cdis are

As I know several people are kind of waiting for the patch, Let me explain the current status.

I had to fix textures' position and size in the credits screen. Now, the patched PAL-UK version works perfectly. Other PAL versions have subtitles and this is what is causing me little troubles. The FMV+subtitle sync was not a real issue: It's because I was doing my testing on an emulator inside a VM that I thought the subtitles were not in sync with the video in ntsc or vga. But at some places, the code clearly does a 30fps->25fps conversion for the subtitle timings. So I tried in a real dreamcast and the subtitles were in sync Now comes the problem with the subtitle textures. I streched the texture to fit VGA displays. I even added a simple filter to make a little bit blury as it is originally in the game. But for reasons I don't know (yet?), two small chunks of the subtitles get removed/replaced. The overall quality and look is nice but sometimes one or two letter is not easilly readable. I will be working on this next week and finally I hope I will be done with this game ^_^

For me, if the text are lisible and sync, it's cleary enough. Maybe you can share it in a first time.
In the game's files there are seven videos if I rememebr well Don't waste your time with the demo.SFD, It's just a trailer. But you know already that I suppose ^^

 

Thanks for your message So the PAL-EN version is ready. I will release the patch and the patched GDI version today or tomorrow. I haven't finished the other versions yet but I think I have found an easier way to fix the subtitles. I know the actual result may sounds good enough but when you can have better results, why stopping now

Ok I know I said I would release it yesterday but I am not home and no internet atm but the pal-en is ready. One new thing, I think I've fixed the subtitle issue once and for all. Tomorrow, I will explain all that on my blog for those interested in the details. The other PAL versions will be coming soon, whithin a week or so. Thank you all for your support!

The next thing to do will be to patch RECVX and my other RECV patches.

 

Don't worry about that. Even if it's hard to wait at this close release ^^ I'm excited to try your great patch.
