    How expensive is it for you to order one flash chip alone?

    I have removed the orders of everyone who was non responsive via PM.

    If you want still want the chips, you will need to reorder.

    I want one chip, but I'm confused. Would I need a blank chip for piggybacking and a flashed chip for direct replacement of original bios chip Is that correct?

    For piggybacking you can have blank or preflashed. For complete replacement, you require preflashed - as the console will not boot to allow you to flash the chip within the system.

    @DarthCloud
    Top results for the part number for dreamcast and saturn are my 2 threads - so thats probably why.

    Actually, I would like to know if the region-info can be flashed without the region change mod ( http://mmmonkey.co.uk/console/sega/dc-region.htm ) after soldering the new chip in? Or is the mod still needed to make that happen. Sorry for newbie question but I am pretty new in this stuff. :)

    EDIT: I would like to be able to change the boot-swirl's color for my friend's console after soldering the chip so that's why I'm asking.

    The region free bios does not change the fact you will need to solder that wire to change the region swirl.
