I have a list of every Dreamcast game released in the US Several games are crossed off here's a link to said list http://web.archive.org/web/20040215.../images/dreamcast/the_dreamcast_checklist.pdf And going by ODCM doesn't help either they gave Gunbird a 2/10
Nice! Btw, those are not many games at all! How many were released in total, 200? I think Europe got 220. What kind of thread is this btw, do you want to compile a list of shitty games on Dreamcast? There are a lot of them, maybe not as many in Europe/USA as in Japan, but still. ODCM must have been total fucktards to give Gunbird 2 a 2/10. Granted, it's a really bland shooter (my opinion) as is most of Psikyos wonderful lineup, but 2/10 is just not justified when at the same time I'm sure they gave utter 3D crap a 5/10 or more.
It's to comple a list of Shitty Dreamcast games I bought wild metal a few weeks back and found it to be utter crap. So to avoid buying more crap I thought I'd see what the consensus on MEH Dreamcast games are. Although I acknowledge that this is all 100% subjective to tastes I think it's about 250 games in the US
Blue Stinger and Ready 2 Rumble Boxing are total shit. I'm sure there are a lot of other shitty games, but those 2 are the only ones I've played. There are also several games that were ports of good games, but were subpar ports - so I wouldn't call them "shit", but they're not quite up to snuff. Examples: Virtua Fighter 3tb, Sega Bass Fishing, and Sega Rally 2. 246, according to that list.
blue stinger is a great game (and I'm not the only one who thinks says so), but I guess lists like this are useless as taste is subjective
Really? Maybe you have to give it some time to try the features, an on the fly Scorched Earth. The PC version is FREE an early game made by Rockstar, I wrote a review here: Wild Metal (Country) - Dreamcast and PC Review .
I'll do that. I want to like this game since it's Rockstar well that and the cover art is pretty awesome too
Definitely not 102 Dalmations Puppies to the Rescue, that game is a masterpiece and possibly the most convincing piece of evidence that video games can be art. Also, Charge 'N Blast is a laughable abomination masquerading as a game.
Spirit of Speed 1937 might qualify, based on the horrific loading times (among other things), but I kind of like the game despite knowing it's crap. OTOH, the lack of a two-player mode is unforgivable.
A friend of mine had Suzuki Alstare Racing, which is probably the worst Dreamcast game I've played. I've had very few bad DC games, as I tend to do quite a bit of research before buying anything, but the worst I've actually owed would have to be Taxi 2.
As popular as the DC has become in its death, there's no denying that there were tons of crap games for it. I guess it's only fair since many of today's DC 'fans' ignored the DC in its primetime as they were too obsessed with their PS1's back in the day. lol.
I hated Blue Stinger for its quirky controls and stiff storytelling. It was, however, good for the time I guess. I played it in 2003 so maybe I was just too late to the party to enjoy it. I also find Toy Racer pretty lame in comparison with the cool Toy Commander game.
-Toy Racer was a game made in support of orphans and originally was sold for £ 8, from which 6 went to charity, don't put the game down because it was made very quickly only for this reason. I'd seen it go locally in FNAC (French bastards) for a full retail price of € 60!!! :fresh: -If you think Suzuki Alstare is bad, you should check the original Japanese version Redline Racer before they slapped a license on! -The Grinch is utter crap, Moho too (strange that it didn't have an NTSC release). -Blue Stinger on the other hand was very good because of: the presentation style, graphics, soundtrack, cheesiness factor, the whole Christmas theme which makes it ideal during the end of the year.
All consoles have tons of crap games made for them. Until I saw that checklist, I had no idea there's a game called "Who Wants to Beat Up a Millionaire?" on DC. Wow. Nobody's buying Taxi 2 because it's a good game though, they're buying it because of its rarity.
