YOU CAN'T JUST DO THAT WITHOUT ASKING. I almost like the second choice. If I met a girl who was already awesome, and then found out she had a manual, that'd be some hella bonus points. And thus, I hope the reversal can be true on occasion. Totally not the reason I own one, though. Blah blah blah control blah fun blah etc. I would almost recommend an "automatic - because I really don't give a crap." but I assume that can be included in the lazy category.
I did actually write that at first. What was written is "Automatic - because I have no interest in driving so I shouldn't be" But, I thought it would be better not to have that option. I'd also like to select option 2 however I think the real reason is the satisfaction of full control over everything. Yakumo PS: All my family and mates in the UK have manual. In fact I don't know anyone in the UK with an Auto. In Japan however only myself, wife and wife's mother have manual while everyone else drives an automatic including all my co-workers and neighbors.
Yeah, it always seems like it's a no-brainer in the UK. You get a manual. Oh, you want an automatic? Well, I guess. Hahaha @ "(...) and shouldn't be."
When I'm not bouncing them off cars I love to ride my motorcycles - big cc and manual all the way! I'm an all weather rider. People wonder why I still ride when it's raining: I say I'm like my women, used to getting wet! There is a particular route I like to take around the yorkshire dales, it's a 40 mile round trip with lots of hills, good scenery and plenty of overtaking spots to show those cars what they are missing! I can't stand being in a car though - as soon as I hit traffic in them I feel like I'm entering into a coma! I'm in no particular rush most times on my bike, I just like to keep moving forwards at a nice pace
i drive ~250miles every week for school. i have an automatic and 80% of the time i think driving blows. :/ the other 20% of the time i don't have homework and i'm blasting some arcade music with the windows down and the ac on in cold weather (i'm a rebel like that)
Windows down with the aircon on? Go on my son, you show them how to live hard 250 miles a week is quite far mind you and I can see why doing that in an automatic would blow BIG TIME. Nothing to do is there? Yakumo
New video up and yes, I've stooped low with using YouTube but at least I didn't have to make a page for it. the bad part is YouTubes piss poor loading and a drop in quality but the quality drop isn't that bad since I made the flv file before uploading it to YouTube. So that saved a bit of bastardization. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NatU_fLOM7Q Yakumo
I guess I drive... about 175 miles a week to and from school. And then an additional half of that much just doing other random shit. 2:34 - were you at that intersection in another video? Ooh, it seems that would be your normal coastal route, eh? Looks like an excellent night. I haven't done as much recreational driving lately. I keep dozing off before midnight!
Yeah, it was the normal route. After the cost I went in to the mountain area for some "action" driving which was great fun. No police, no other traffic but scarry as hell when you remember that you're in the middle of no-where without any TV or radio (digital or analogue) and you get a weak signal on your phone and there's not a single light in sight apart from your headlights. I really must take a video out there one night. yakumo
You really must. As long as you're careful. I don't want to hear that the only thing you still own from your car are the hot mudflaps.
Well, YT will still compress it. Which is more of a color thing than resolution thing, though when you have a block of pixels all become the same color, I suppose that's a loss of res in a way.
I do, full HD at 1080p  Plus it's the lightest camera in the world  (Or so panasonic claim) If I uploaded a video to my server at the native resolution you'd need one hell of a fast PC to run the converted flv file at full speed. The original format is .mts which my 2.8ghz (yeah, not so fast) PC can only play at 18fps :-( Anyway, if anyone would like to see a full HD file I can upload one tonight for streaming from my server. Yakumo
OK, I did a short HD video of my car's dash in the dark! The idea is to show the level of light control the camera has. Blacks are black, not fuzzy shit that many cameras produce plus the light areas are sharp with good contrast. I've converted the original .m2ts file to MP4. There's a slight loss in quality but not much plus it's a lot easier to play due to the file not being as CPU hungry. The video specs are: Video: MPEG4 Video 1920x1080 [Video] Audio: AAC 48000Hz stereo 1536Kbps [Audio] (Original was Dolby Digital) Size: 98.48MB And here's the download link - www.segagagadomain.com/HD-Videotest(dark).mp4 Yakumo
Is that interlaced, then? Holy crap, that's a nice camera. That good of quality in low-light (without just refusing to show anything) is amazing. I'm a bit blown away by what one can accomplish with 'consumer' products these days. High five!!!
Yeah, that was 1080i. The camera won't do dark contrast video in 1080p. It can also do real night vision (Green tint to the image) but only at 15fps. Still, pretty cool for doing stills I guess. The missus and son will be going away for a few days in March so I'll get time to do some serious 1am driving in the mountai areas. Yakumo
Well. If I don't drive for more than, say, 18 hours, I get some smoke from my exhaust when pulling out of the driveway. Bull and shit. Valve guide seals better not already be going out. This engine was rebuilt 8 months ago, AND it has about 78k miles on it.
Not sure, I've only seen it in my rear view mirror. Definitely not a super deep dark color, and really not an extreme ammount. Also, when I changed my oil a couple weeks ago I was almost a quart low. Jeeze.
