    hm i believed it had something to do with special automobile brands, too...strange

    were there any automobile related consoles? maybe i remembered something wrong...

    It was called something like the "European Automotive Color Collection" because, I guess, they were painted in automotive piants (and I've heard rumours that the cases were fibreglass, but I don't think that's true (the press release didn't mention this), and I'm not unsealing mine to check).

    So SB, are you suggesting that they are actually just "coated" shells? In other words Sony just had them professionally spray painted?

    I always thought they were like the LE silver & Aqua etc, i.e. it was the plastic that was coloured and not some kind of coating.
