Just found a Playstation I DTL-H1102 Debug Console with a starting price of 99p, no reserve (although the buy it now price of £110 is, how should I put it, a bit optimistic!). Also no box. Can be found here:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=280139908280&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=018

The same seller also has listed a Playstation I Net Yaroze Console DTL-H3002, although its missing the special memory card, so you can't develop on the unit. Also 99p strating price, no buy it now. Unboxed. Find it here:

Aren't those the right drives in NPDP cartridges though? I'm sure Kev took one apart and that was what was inside, I remember commenting that I have a few of those exact drives kicking around if he wanted them to swap with the one in a cart for "archival" purposes.

My guess is we'll be seeing these sorry looking pieces of crap appearing on eBay from time to time for years to come. Expect ever increasing hype however... "Genuine Xbox dev kit as once owned by Bill Gates himself..."

It is a shame people are bidding on them, they are being fleeced. :-(

Nope, totally the wrong model, besides they need to be at least 6gb to hold the four 'standard' .gcm's.

Ah right, I must have some of those as well then, I have a drawer full of laptop drives, and I am sure I had the same ones from a photo of the inside of an NPDP cart.

Holy shit, that's a Dell OEM laptop drive!!!!!! I used to work for Dell, I recognize their stickers quite easily... That number under the phony sticker that says 'DP/N 0006212D' Stands for 'Dell Part Number 6212D'. Call their support line and ask them what a '6212D' is... :110: I'm pretty sure IBM only used those numbers on drives sold to Dell...

I doubt Nintendo was buying their hard drives from Dell...

That whole eBay sale for those bogus dev kits has been a crock of shit from day one. About the only thing of interest is that he managed to apparently get away with it. Being informed that the sale of items was not genuine, I'd have hoped the seller would have been honest enough to just pull the original auction.
