I've not seen any linux kit go much above ~$200 in the last year on ebay (US). Since it included a compatible PS2 unit, $200 may not be too far of the mark, but $600 is way pricey.

Seems to be starting a trend of extreme optimism amongst sellers, though - someone else just placed a PS2 + linux kit up at $600 OBO!

I'm still trying to work out why this seller's shipping costs are so high? Shipping from Japan is not cheap at the best of times, but his charges always seem to stand quite a bit above what others charge - perhaps he packs 'em incredibly well?

Apparently he has more than 1 unit, so it's the same image for the last 5 items he has auctioned. This is allegedly the last one.

Shameless eBay plugs of my own - non console items (UK)

I am trying to think of a way to justify plonking this into here, but so far nothing...

I inherited a lot of loft boxes when my father passed away and I am listing "some" (yeah, there are more) or his collection of maps. He was a serious hiker, walker & mountaineer (not just little mountains either).

So, onto eBay go roughly 60 or 70 maps. I've split them into separate auctions where it makes sense. If you need a map of the UK just ask lol, can't guarantee it will be up to date, but I should be able to tell you a funny family related tale into the bargain regarding the particular trip we took! ;-)

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=250168321781&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=015

Starts there and look at all the others in "Other Auctions"

Hey, just thought of a good one - one of these maps might help you get to an eBay item that is "collection only". :110:

Atari Falcon 030 complete & boxed (USA)

Not many of these kicking about. Any that do surface are generally still immediately snapped up for audio engineering purposes. A rather good example for a collector as it's in good condition & it's even boxed.

I've seen them go for less $ recently as frankly despite the Atari ST range being stunning for engineering usage, they've definately been completely superceeded a number of times over. Nostalgia dictates I suspect!

For that price you could buy yourself a nice Apple iBook instead. Much more powerful, much more portable.

Sega Katana dev unit HKT-01 (USA)

Cheap, but barely tested Katana. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Dreamcast-DEVELOPMENT-HKT-01-KATANA-INTL-shipping-NR_W0QQitemZ200155956916QQihZ010QQcategoryZ41053QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I did notice one of the lights isn't coming on - also the switches etc are not set properly, so perhaps it just needs a bit of TLC from someone more familiar with it.

Seller also has a few other Dreamcast items, including this rather nice & bulky carry bag for a retail DC. If I was in the US I think I'd be going for it actually, but hey...

    BEWARE ** NOT ** A PS1 debugging station (UK)

The particular choice of blue car paint makes me feel that this is a deliberate (and poor) effort to get some short sighted or rather excited collector into snapping up what they initally might think is a PAL Debugging station.

However, it is a painted retail edition. For newer members, please avoid!
