Yeah, considering its the only one that I've ever seen, and is complete in near mint condition, I think its a fair price. If I had the money, I'd certainly consider buying it at that price.

Am I the only one wondering why only a jewelcase survived, and not a copy of the game?

Isn't that a bit odd? I find the opposite much more plausible, as I can image a company having test-discs pressed, but no final cover. Not really a complete final cover, but no disc?

I assume there's a good explanation to this, just makes me wonder...

well i think the game was cancelled very late in development (infact i think the actual game was finished) so they most likely already had the artwork 99% done and had some printed to check them over and possibly send out to reviewers etc. or show the execs

however the game got cancelled, the discs were never mastered and a couple of the completed jewel cases my have been sneaked out, at least thats my take on it

oh and then i think echelon got hold of it, updated the game with a decompression algorithm that was quicker than the one used by the developers and released it

That's interesting, I just read up on some of your claims, and indeed it got leaked I see, don't know whether there's a hack regarding faster compression, but I've found it:)

What I still wonder though, is why they produce a booklet, cover etc, and not press a labeled disc? It dosen't necessarily have to be mastered and playable, but I would assume that if it was sent out for criticism of the design, that reviewers impression would be lacking something if there wasn't a labeled disc included?
My point is, maybe the guy you got the cover from kept the actual game disc?

It's definitely a lot of $$$ in this economy. We'll see if anyone steps up to the plate on it. Has a TON of watchers.... ;-)

I sure wish the pressed GDR was in there as well. That's all Sierra had left, so that's what I snagged. Not entirely sure, but I think Mystical's explanation makes sense... It's definitely final case art, not early work....

Okay, still think it's a little odd, but what the heck, doesn't really matter, it still is a truly unique item:thumbsup:

And its entirely possible that disks were made at some point. Regardless, I think Assembler has some cases from some cancelled Acclaim games? Its been a while, but I feel like some of them didnt have games either

    Net yaroze stuff

Have this stuff for sale or trade:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...Name=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...Name=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

Controllers and serial cables from net yaroze consoles. Would prefer to trade, but I'll sell if preferred.

For assemblergames members the controllers are $40 and serial cables are $65 plus shipping.

Stuff I'm looking for in trades are:
dtl-h2010, drive for dtl-h2000 dev board
dtl-h2510, drive for dtl-h2500 and dtl-h2700 dev boards
controller/memory card box for above mentioned dev boards
ps controllers with serial cables for use with above dev boards
blue controllers for dtl-h1xxx debug playstation

To get the assemblergames member prices, you must agree to buy outside of ebay and mark paypal payment as "gift" to avoid any fees, or if you want to do it through ebay, you must also cover ebay and paypal fees.

I can trade multiple items if you have something good (like one of the drives) and are interested in my stuff.

I plan on putting up some dtl-h2000 and dtl-h2500 dev boards soon too.

the serial cables are pretty rare, so I want to make a few of mine available, especially to assemblergames members

The cases are not necessarily made in the same factory as the discs. And if there's some last-minute-testing going on, but the system specs are quite finalized, it's entirely possible that the game hasn't been pressed, but the cases are ready. Or SOME cases, maybe as pre-production samples for the QA team to evaluate before giving out the order for mass fabrication (which is even more likely imho)
