Yeah I absolutely have no tolerance for "Doesn't have a power cord, so I didn't test it." Bullshit! If you -DID- test it, you would -SURELY- get a higher price for it, so spending the 30 minutes, the $5 to track down/buy the right cord and power the damn thing on... too much work, eh?

The Kid Klown board is a retail board, not a standard EPROM board.

I would be highly suspect of that as it appears someone burned EPROMs and put them on a regular board (that same board was used for SMB3 among many other games).

It looks a lot like a reproduction rather than an original proto.

I'm not saying he did anything himself, but even experienced collectors can be misled when buying in bulk.

If someone's asking you to lay down five figures, there shouldn't be any question of provenance. And one of the most common MMC3 retail NES boards populated with EPROMs sets off my spidey sense. After all, why would a licensed developer cannibalize a retail board when they would have legit access to the TKE boards?

$15,000 is a delusional price and those games are worth no more than $350 each.

They must be fishing for a sucker at that price.

You wouldn't pay $15,000 for Scat? You have a fundraiser, see if people would pay you to dump your scat ;)

I think it is now customary for people to list, at least on eBay, their super-rare items at 2,3,4, or 5x actual value - with the intent of gaining exposure and eventually taking a much lower, more reasonable offer... an offer that will seem like a "bargain" in comparison to the original asking price.

He probably just bought the eproms, no board and made it into a working cart himself.
