What an item is worth is a matter of opinion. I was also surprised at the price and was only looking to get what I paid for them at most. I started collecting these dev items only to find out that I was blowing way too much money for stuff that I would only play once or twice. Something's worth is equal to what someone is willing to pay. Items like that are usually one of a kind items and you can't put a set price on something like that. That's why I started them at $0.99 and let it go.... I find that listing them at that price helps drive the number of views and watchers up, which in turn helps with the search rankings. Plus I got exposure on GameSniped.com and GoNintendo.com with those. Regular folks don't really know of a site like this so eBay is their only way of purchasing such items.

That alone helps auctions more than people seem to realize. I will never bid on an auction with a ridiculous starting price (50% or more of eBay these days it seems), I never 'Make an offer', and I never bid on reserve auctions... And there are a lot of people like this, it's not worth our time to even consider an auction if it's likely that it won't sell unless you bid the $15000 the owner is pretending his item is worth. When I do a search on eBay for collectible things, the first thing I click is 'Auctions only' eliminating the buy-it-now listings, so I usually never even see those anyway. Then I usually sort lowest price first and go from there. Anything else is just a waste of time unless you want to look at pictures.

My favorite are auctions where the owner states 'I have no idea what this is worth, just found it in the attic and thought I'd see if anyone wanted it rather than throw it away.' And then they either put a reserve on it, or start it at something stupid-high, like in the thousands. If you don't know what it's worth, and were just going to throw it away, list if for 99 cents and let it sell... Otherwise it just makes you look greedy, stupid, or usually both... :)

That's my thoughts anyway... But his auctions seem to have proved my point. I bet if he listed them all at what they sold for as a BIN, most of them would still be sitting on eBay waiting for buyers (although I guess you can't really prove that...). But I have seen, many times, auctions listed like that that end up selling for more than what other people have as BINs for the same item.

While that's true, if you're selling an item that not everyone will be interested in, you'll often get less when the auction ends, despite having a bunch of bids and watchers, than if you'd just set a buy it now price.

Wrong area dude. Make a thread in the "Want To Buy" section.

And I do believe your avatar is breaking the rules on mature content...

That doesn't look like any GB/GBC dev kit I've ever seen before. How could it possibly prevent someone from playing imports?

Looks like a piece of home-made kit, with a third party flash cart attached.

Chances of it being legit are less then slim.

Yeah, I figured as well, especially with USB didn't even exist when the GB was released and only barely when the GBC did. Still a fairly interesting device.

It's for LSDJ, homebrew GB music synthesizing software.

Which is all fine, but it's not anywhere near an official dev kit as claimed by the seller.

Basically, seller is lying in the hopes of passing off a piece of homebrew kit for big bucks.
