Some dude really does not know what he got his hands on, auction ends on March 2nd. Hopefully someone from here can pick it up and see what's on it It's way out of my price range ;.;

 

Wow,hope that xbox has some nice debug games on there if not that than who ever wins is going to over pay big time.

Just noticed the xbox logo on the dvd drive is not green,never scene that unless someone swapped it out or maybe someone just scrapped away the green.

Ahh,now I see,the faceplate and the dvd bezel is simply from a crystal retail xbox so it has been opened before.

 

Plus the seller mentioned 500gb drive. The whole thing is a mess. I wouldnt touch it.

I wouldn't pay more than $300 for that. Probably closer to $250 since it's had the HDD replaced. Dammit eBay. Overprice everything...

 

I don't think the seller knows anything seeing he listed it as a nintendo, the 500GB he thinks he remembers seeing is probably 50000 blocks free, the DVD drive covers pop on and off without opening the unit, and I looked at both stickers, they look intact, perhaps someone can ask the seller to take pics of screen shots in the menus to really figure this thing out.

 

It's still one of those things where, if they are posting bad information, I would never go near it. Let alone for the price that it is going for, it is crazy.

 

I just emailed him to take pics of all menu screens, I'll update with his reply.

 

I have a theory some DVT4's were assembled with the Crystal DVD bezel. My DVT4, mfg 2005, has the same bezel. I don't think it was replaced in the wild because the console is in very good condition. I even have the cellophane on the front panel.

 

He replied and will be emailing the pictures tonight when he gets home. I'll upload them once I get them

 

How can someone say it's a Nintendo when it clearly says MICROSOFT on it? And how does he not know what it is when it says "XBOX DEVELOPMENT KIT" in capital letters all over it? 1 minute Google search, all info there. Some people are clearly just stupid. You could give him a vintage Ferrari and he'd sell it as a "OLD FORD CAR DONT KNOW WHAT IT IS".

 

I understand but the faceplate is from a retail crystal xbox,how do you explain that.

 

Manufacturer made a mistake, or they ran out of bezels with the green text and decided to use crystal ones. They just snap on the DVD drive and mine is pretty secure on there. Doesn't look messed with.

 

Still no pictures, but he messaged me that eBay removed the listing.

 

Hopefully he sends you pictures anyway just so we can see, and now that it's not on ebay might be able to get it for a reasonable price.
Unless now that he saw what it got up to he'll expect that much or more from anyone interested in it
