    I wonder why the chars sometimes look in their "tired" position which in final only happens if you're sleeping/poison or something (I think)

    Either it's heavily changed, or the value got changed (so you're right now at an other map), or both don't exist yet in proto (but if that was the case I think the game would crash.. right?)

    That's what I meant by trying if you can go underwater tons of pages ago =P

    Say umm... that looks more like the three towers to me =P Maybe they changed the locations codes during development?

    teleport code is 7E05AEXX
    change XX to something

    If XX = EC is what I assume one of the three towers instead of the mystic stones room, I suggest counting up a bit hexadecimally to see if you end up in Doom Island. (if I remember correctly, XX=ED and onward will bring you to the Capsule Monsters shrine and the Ancient Cave in the final game)

    I think XX = F1 is the last one (in the final game, that is). Everything after that will end up in a reset of the game, or a black screen or some other error.

    I think Doom Island should exist already. Or at least the battle background does. Since I saw a early screenshot that has Maxim, Selan, guy and Artea battle some monsters in the Fortress of Doom.

    Though I don't know for sure if the proto is older or newer than the one in the screenshot.

    Well, I wouldn't mind exploring the game myself =P

    After the fighting the boss,
    if I choose the wrong answer the game crash now like with Tia.

    Perhaps it's better i don't fight Camu? and continue the game.

    Maybe if text or events are corrupt the proto (or lufia in general) try do the 2 answer thing as default and since there's nothing assigned to the two answers the game crashes since it don't know what to do

    Why would there be "not developed events" half through game at random points? I think it's still corrupted bytes or whatever is wrong.
    --

    Anyways, guess you just continue the game or walk through walls if you can't get past a gate and continue.

    Since you can record without lagg can you try record more footage and upload it?

    Man, I'm a huge Lufia fan and this looks so amazing. Thanks for all the great .gifs an info and good luck solving the errors an crashing issues.

    I think I see the problem in the log file you posted that's causing the audio to break. A solution may be close...

    Squee. I hope this does. Even without playing it, I'm a lover of prototypes, and this is an awesome find. :D

    Almost as awesome as the CT Preview cart, I think. :)

    Start the game, and when the logo appears, enter Pro Action Replay code 80C000FA. Now use Reset in the emulator. Do you have sound now?

    There must be more corrupt bytes nearby that stop the sound from working. The byte at 00004000 was definitely corrupt, though.

    In SNES9x, if you go into battle, do you still get the yellow text error "Sound CPU executing STOP at F5E4" like your earlier screenshot?
