They probably put that there with debug mode so they can test it faster.

Can you progress further when you go up.. like fighting the Sinistrals?

Edit: tried for fun the same spot, debug mode on final and it doesn't work anymore.

 

Since in the Gordovan tower and Gratze the boss fights were replaced with goblin battles, I wouldn't be surpised if all of the later boss battles would be just Goblin battles at the point of development of this proto.

Guess they first developed the story/map and than the enemies and such.

Apparently your build is 7 months before jap release and 6 months before final build date (which is what the debug says on final build).

Wow the ending without its "ending music" is way less sad to see but probably also due to Japanese language

The Ending is waaaaay different (doom island isn't planning to fall etc)

You don't have to break the 3 mystic stones either so maybe the ending is all based of Lufia 1 (which I didn't play much at all).

 

This proto is just full of surprises! As others have said, thanks for sticking with it despite all that happened. I was considering bidding on it my self but I think it went to the right home. Here's hoping any other niggling problems can be ironed out.

 

From what I can read, Daos does want to drop Doom Island on Parcelyte.
Besides that, I think that part with the three stones just wasn't done yet, since there is a "developer note" (some text that doesn't belong in the dialogue) after Maxim and Iris' finish talking. Maxim actually thinks "Thank you Iris(-san) after their conversation.
Also, iris has some thought bubble too after her "I helped too much, but I don't know why" line. (I only understand some part about "inside me" probably something about her feelings?)


I don't know much Japanese (yet =P )
But the things I'm able to read from the note are:
- something about a event skip (probably that they're skipping some events in this version of the proto.）
- Something about 3... "something I can't read" stones. Mosty likely the three mystic stones. Says something about going to somewhere of the bottom of Doom Island.
- Something about "future" (the ending music is called "To the future" so maybe it's a note for music?)

After the note Maxim says his lines from what he says before he dies in the final game. Selan's lines are there too.

Kinda too bad you click away all the text so fast =P With Japanese I always try to scan through the text to look for things that I do know what they mean.

Well, if I knew how to fix that proto I would have bidded on it myself too =P But I'm more interested in seeing it restored than having a broken proto in my Lufia collection =P Besides, that i don't have paypal XD (but for something like this I'd try finding an other way to pay for it if possible)
