Why are you so glad though? Presumably you own a PS2, so aside from it being easier to use just one console for all PS titles, what are the benefits of having the BC in there? Plus you wear down the drive the more you play PS2 games on it :lol: I guess it will become a collector's piece one day though.
Well now that we know more what is going on. Sucks for Europe (and soon NA/JP). I would not be surpised if a future firmware update renders the EE/GS in early model ps3 useless. Sadly that would suck (maybe best to stop updating my ps3). On the bright side, Ps2 emulation on PC is actualy getting good. So it leads hope that thing wont be so bad by the end of the year on the ps3 (specialy since sony knows the hw better). That still applies with the new models since it still will use ps2 disc. Maybe in the future tho they might offer some ps2 classics for download via the store (like what they are doing with ps1 titles now) so you can play them off the HDD. Actualy that would be kind of cool.
