Can somebody clear this up for me ?

Those ips patchs are needed for the roms to save inside the sd card ?

I know it's against the forum's rules to share the roms so I'll ask, can somebody upload those cracked roms somewhere and share a link over PM ?

I have a blog that I was thinking about adding every patched rom needed to complete your everdrive collection.
So if somebody upload it I'll get it all together and share over PM to not violate any forum's rules.

The patches are needed for games which use FlashRAM saving, as KRIKzz has not implemented support for those saves (hopefully will be added in the future). You will need roms patched to use SRAM save instead. Again I've had trouble finding the FlashRAM patches, icequake says LaC released a bunch but I've only found one or two, not the implied treasure trove worth of patches. GoodN64 has some prepatched roms included in its rom sets

How can you tell the difference between patched and non-patched games in the goodn64 set ?

I saw Krikzz saying he was testing the ED64 with the goodn64 set. You are the second one to bring this set up.
I've always enjoyed the no-intro set for it clearness and organization.

Why do you prefer the GoodN64 set ?

[!] roms in goodn64 are clean unpatched, patched roms generally have f1 or f2 in the filename, some explicitly state whats patched. Cowering does a goodjob of testing his dumps, message him on irc for more info

I see there is now another distributor for ED64 which is UK based, should be great for our german friends (no custom between EU countries, correct me if I'm wrong).

While I for the most part agree with Spoonman, by the time the N64 rolled around most people were no longer using BBSes to transfer files. However it was a system right after the SNES/Genesis scenes so they wanted to keep some nostalgia of the BBS scenes going as well as some telnet boards actually were still up and probably only supported 8+3 still although most of the ones I was on were running Amiga Express and I am very unfamiliar with whether or not the Amiga used 8+3 for file names since it was not a Microsoft box.

But yeah it seems like you are complaining about free software. How about if the stuff was never patched and you had to go about dumping all these games buy yourself or grabbing all the store bought copies negating most of the need for a copy device. I'd say to this, don't bite the hand that feeds you.

Hmm this guy shows that he is quite mature. 4chan much? This guy has the same level of maturity as a 12 year old 'anon' kid.

And what ever for. I'm sure that there are sites that review the product. The reviewers there do not get compensated for the reviews and they are helping the developer of the product promote the device and help inform people and hopefully sell more products. Also realize that such an extensive review takes a lot of time to do.

Seeing as you pointed out one review site, which I looked up on google and is top ranking for the Neoflash N64 myth flash cart product reviews, it appears to me that it is a notable and often viewed review on the internet. Or are you just trying to state that you want to make it more difficult for KRIKzz to show and sell his products? His products are far cheaper than the competitors. Maybe someone will make note of that.

what have you been doing to contribute to this N64 stuff? I would like to see some URLs and work.

Or do you just come on this fora to bitch?

    u so mad

The GBATemp guy who says he asked for a review unit isn't even a main reviewer for the site. If anyone on GBATemp should do a review of the ED64 its amptor, since atleast he probably owned an N64 copier once in his lifetime unlike the other guy.

Who is the GBATemp guy. Someone told me about this thread and I just read this reply. I thought it was me. lol. Yeah I'd be happy to review it but KRIKzz does not reply to emails very often so it is at a standby mute.

I reviewed the NeoFlash products and they are quite frankly expensive compared to the new products coming up. (I think we're talking $200 plus another $85 plus SD card so we're up around $300 total which is what they used to want for products back in the mid 90s which had more parts inside them than these do). And I've been reading that KRIKzz is at $99. That's like saving about $200 right there. Of course there's still going to be people that complain that they can buy an R4 for $5. Although that is entirely different, you won't ever be able to drill the reasons why that is into the complainer. N64 has less market share than a DS and etc etc it would half a page to explain these things lol.

As far as owning an N64 copier, I did own one but my nearby friend still owns his V64 so I used his a lot years before I purchased mine and could still use his to compare things. These flash cart solutions are a lot more forgiving however the neoflash product required a bunch of tedious file copying and programming to get it ready to work. But that was all outlined in my review.

In fact when I received a second n64 myth cart, I had to go back into my review and read how I got the thing completely working (just to save me time) and I quickly configured it by that. So i guess by doing a review, I benefitted myself as well because I know where to go back and reference it on the web if I'm being lazy :)

I am curious who the GBATemp guy is though because the admin isn't aware of any of this nor am I really.

oh yeah I see the thread and the OP edited the post and there's been some mod edits too so yeah not sure what was in there.

I don't really see any staff posting in that thread.

Interesting stuff about how to hook up a wavebird to an N64 though. :033:
