I was just taking a guess. By "ROM loader chip" I meant the memory chip the game flashes to for playing. Forgot what type of memory chip it is; if it a SRAM chip or something else along those lines. I was referring to v2 being cyclone based. I should know having a v2 model. My comment was about not being sure if v1 was based off the cyclone as well or another FPGA. Lastly, should've researched the MAX2 before posting. Turns out it's a CPLD. Interesting. The ED64 v2 model could technically be classified as a PLD then. Sorry if my reply was confusing and wrong.

I have been told by someone that the English translation works if you force flash. My TV is broken so I can't test if myself.

    Hi,

First of all thanks for the great product.

I am about to order one, but i am not sure if i should order the one with USB or the one without it.

As far as i know, USB is used for developing purposes (which i have absolutely zero interest) and firmware updates before v2.0

As the cart i order will be v2.0 and i won't develop anything on it, i should be fine without USB, right?

Is there anything else i am missing?

Thanks, KRIKzz. I did as you said and just ordered one with Cart cover and PAL chip without USB port.

To everybody, the cart comes with the everdrive 64 sticker shown on the retrogate store page, right?

    If so, that's great

    Just got my Everdrive64 today.

I plugged it to my 55 inch Sammy (I am in Europe region) and i loaded some NTSC-U games. The display was shitty. Colors were wrong and there were ghosting everywhere. I tried various combinations and i couldn't get a decent picture.

I then plugged my N64 to a flat CRT sony trinitron and i got the perfect picture in both NTSC and PAL.

So if you are having different graphical problems, wrong colors etc. try to plug your N64 to a CRT and try to reproduce the problem.

Yeah. Old consoles don't look good on LCD or Plasma. CRT is the right option. Or if you really want to plug old consoles to Newer TV.
XRGB is the second best choice... Too bad it is quite expensive.....

EDIT: Nevermind, I figured it out. Turns out that colors =/= bits haha.

Found a 24-bit to 16-bit batch converter so I was able to crop & save the image with paint and then convert it.
