Hey Helder, Finally got the NESRGB boards in and need to order some Screw mount AV ports. Do you have any in stock? Also, I noticed that there was something about the links in the first post not combining shipping.. is there a way around that?

If you buy more than one of a any single item there is no extra charge for shipping but if you buy 2 different sockets you will be charged the extra shipping but I always refund one of them when it happens. I should have stock maybe Tuesday, shapeways has been dragging ass lately as I should have gotten the sockets this week.

Finally got confirmation that the sockets are on their way. I have 3 or 4 full panel sockets that will be available so anyone who didn't prepay and wants one will have a chance to get one. Plenty of screw sockets available.

Awesome! I'll keep my eyes peeled for when you have them on hand.. I'll be needing two black Screw Sockets.

I'm thinking I'll get them in tomorrow and will update the thread when I do.

2 Full Panels available and 6 screw sockets available, be warned that if ordering anything over the weekend there will likely be a few days delay for shipping since where I live there is another snow storm coming and it's likely to cause delays. Colored screw sockets for anyone interested are better off PMing me about it since that link to order has no stock.

I have a good amount of the Full Panels this time around so anyone who missed out or comes along will likely get one this time around, no stock for the screw sockets though.

I just got around to installing a full panel on my NES top loader with the NESRGB board and it looks and works great!

A couple minor things to note...on the unit that I got, the screw that goes through the PCB in the connector was too long to let the panel mount flush. I had to cut it down, but then it was fine. Also, one of the holes wasn't exactly drilled through, but once again...I just drilled it out, and it was fine.

Not trying to put anyone off by these notes, but between removing the RF modulator, cutting down the screw, and all the general assembly/disassembly...this required a little more "fitting" than I initially thought. Totally worth it considering the neatness and functionality of the end result though. It's so nice to be able to just use an SNES RGB SCART cable on my NES top loader.

The hole you drilled was likely filled with left over powder from the printing process, I try to get as much of it out as possible but it can be removed easily with one of those fuzzy pipe cleaners from hobby stores. The screw length was bought when the design had more material in the screw hole area and has since been shaved down but the screw remained the same size since I have 1000 of them, I get almost no complaints about it though.

Now that I think about it, I probably could have just reversed the screw and it would have likely fit. It just wouldn't fit with the head on the top, and for whatever reason, I guess I really wanted the screw head on the top, lol. That would still be better than backing the screw off and having the connector PCB be a little loose.

Not trying to criticize here, just looking to share my experience to help others looking to perform this mod. Like I said, it turned out great!

Good tip on reversing the screw as it never occurred to me to do this, we automatically think to always screw down not up.

I have a couple questions. Does the replacement panel come in just one color? And would it be simple enough, if I forgo the NesRGB board for now, to eventually install said-board after I've done an AV mod before? I ask this as a bit of a beginning hard-modding enthusiast.

Great product BTW. Totally useful given how gimped the NES Toploader was for the Western market.

You can use the Socket along with the AV Mod board I have ($5 extra for the board) and it's simple to install and doesn't affect anything in terms of installing the NESRGB in the future, you simply desolder a few wires and use the standard PCB to connect to the NESRGB when the time comes. The socket only comes in white but can be painted using Vinyl Dye spray paint but many kinds of spray pain can be used.

Got some screw sockets in today so I have stock on all sockets minus the colored sockets (PM me about one if interested).

Used one of these in my Goldstar 3DO. It's a bit tight with OEM cables but it works. Thanks Helder.

Nice to see it used in other consoles, these have been used in Atari systems as well.
