Any chance there will be more colored screw mounts in the future?

Just click on the outside usa colored socket link and I'll refund the $3 difference in shipping.

How hard is it to install?

Are you still selling the these things?

How hard is it to install? I don't have a lot of soldering experience, or reading complicated electrical diagrams :p But I do have a top loader and it would be nice to have RGB out and be able to use the snes cable.

I'm having an issue with mine where pin 11 seems to be connector to ground, everything else works fine. (I noticed this when the audio wasn't working in one speaker). I disconnected all wires and tested continuity, and it is in fact connected to ground (pin 5 and 6).

Pretty simple especially if you installed the NESRGB but if someone did that for you then the hardest part is desoldering the RF unit and A/C Socket. So if you can desolder that the rest is rather simple.

I don't have NESRGB installed. I assume that's required? This kit says it comes with a bare PCB for NESRGB. What does that mean in terms of what else I would need to do this?

I have an AV board for people who don't have the NESRGB which give the NES a much better image than RF and allows you to use the SNES cables but again it involves desoldering the RF Board and the A/C Socket. The AV board is towards the last pictures on the first post of this thread and shows where to solder the wires to my AV board. It really all comes down to your equipment and skill, it's a pretty simple mod but you have to decide if it's simple enough for you to attempt.

That sounds great. And soldering and desoldering look easy enough. I'm a quick learner, but as far as WHAT exactly to desolder and where exactly to solder stuff I may need a bit more of a step by step :p

Do you have any soldering experience? if not I would find some scrap electronics and practice on that also look at youtube for tutorials like these for desoldering:

or have someone install it for you, I can do it if you're in the USA and there are many moders here that can install it for you. If you really want to DIY then do as I said and practice a bit and get some equipment.

I am in the US (Nebraska). It would be cool to figure out how to do it myself, but if I changed my mind I appreciate the offer to do it for me. How much would you charge? (total, parts and labor)

I cut the trace right by the through hole. And the hole is still connected to ground. So its not the actual trace, but the hole itself. Quite strange, as it looks fine. I just soldered a wire from the header to the cut trace and now everything is fine.

Let me know how many of the full kits for you to get some more. I have a few I would like to do this mod on. Even if I have to order 10, most would be used. Sorry, I'm new to this site and still trying to learn this phone.

I had a few straglers left over from another order but they all sold out in 2 days. I'll order some more toploader sockets and some front loader sockets, things have been slow and I assume it was due to the holidays and haven't been ordering much because lack of demand.

Is there some kind of waiting list I can get on for a top loader socket? I don't want to be too late and have them be sold out again.

Send me a PM with your email and country of residence and I'll send you an invoice, this way I keep track of who pays and simplifies me keeping track and shipping info.
