...Piece of Sh*t........ Right, Windows installed some updates, and blue screened on me and restarted. I had several applications at this time running. It restarted and i logged in, and blue screened again, and did this same loop over once more. Finally, i booted it into safe mode and restored it to a previous known working condition (the day before) Thankfully it restored itself extremly quickly and i didnt lose any files what-so-ever.... However,...at the time when everything went ape-shit, i had itunes running, and it seems something has gone corrupt with itunes. I have uninstalled anything and everything with the words "apple" or "itunes" in it, to no avail, each time i run itunes i get an an error saying "itunes has encountered an error". I've also got issues with Norton, however, thats coming off anyways to be replaced by AVG.... I've unistalled, re installed, reinstalled, uninstalled to no avail, and its really starting to piss me off! Specs: Acer Aspire 5100 AMD Turion 64x2 1 gig ram 256mb ATI radeon express 1100 160g HDD Microshit Windows Vista Home Premium Any idea's on how to fix this issue? Ryan
here is a thought but i don't know if it will help or not but when you uninstall Itunes does the whole folder go or does the folder stay in your program files with anything in it?? if there are any files that are not deleted by the uninstall they could cause a problem what version itunes do you uses as 7.2 or later is best used on vista
Yes, install XP. I upgraded to Vista and it was fookin' shite so I rolled back, luckily the disc was free, but there are so many bugs and things that don't work, I'm not going to bother. I'll upgrade from faithful XP when there is stuff I can no longer do on it due to the O/S or it becomes unsupported and nothing works on it. I hate Vista and it's the worst Windows ever. If you want even more disk space, install Windows 95 --> it uses 88Mb on the hard disk!!!!!
iTunes is absolutely shockingly handled on vista. Mostly Apples fault, they;ve had betas for at least 18 months to play with and they still haven't got it right. Otherwise I'm loving vista. If you can't live without itunes then all I can think is to completely format/reinstall windows, but you already know that I expect..
my computer will never see Vsh*ta in its lifetime.... would get back to Win 2003, IMO the best of all, if you forget about the fact you cannot any single software you would like to
It still seems I'm the only one with Vista with not too many complaints, it runs better then XP for me, but when I use it on other comps it sucks. Now watch mine blue screen.
heh....funny enough itunes had several folders, one called simply "itunes" the other called "itunes12" same quicktime. I had itunes 7.3 installed, and after nothing i rolled it back to a previous restore date (about 2 days prior to the previous restore) and it worked fine. I've turned off aero as it added a much...much longer boot to vista, the one thing i cant stand is the little things they took out, or hid in vista... I think its time to dig out that old WinXP disc Ryan
Its funny, I remember the same things being said about Windows XP when it launched. Give it time, and (almost) everyone will leave XP.
I updated a guys PC a few weeks ago to XP from Win 98SE !!! Some people take a LOT longer than others :banghead:
our school uses 98se alot still also.....hell, i have win2k installed alongside ubuntu 6.10, and a win 95/98 machine also Ryan
i got xp about 2 years ago and before that i used 98se simply becuase it worked well and i had no real interest in upgrading to Xp just becuase it looked nice and had features that i would never need this time arround i decided to install windows Vista on a spare partition and dual boot just so when vista did become fully stable i could just uninstall xp and have an OS installed but since vista is so crappy and wouldn't work with my main peice of hardware i just uninstalled it after 2 days and will stick with XP for another year or so
yea.....but your house seems to have some sort of voo-doo reverse weird magic on any electronics anyways...
It's iTunes bitching that you don't have MacOSX. Just go into safemode and uninstall it. POS iTunes v6.0+
I was going to use OSx86 (Mac OS on a standard PC), but my network card isn't supported nor is my SATA I want OS X!
