I seriously hope none of these are real time. I'd have no life left :-(

The FFVII tech demo was real time. It was fully scripted (no AI, no physics, etc.) but it was rendered in real time on the hardware. It is the same video that introduced FFVII on the PSone.

    Man, I miss Final Fantasy...

How long is it going to be until they make a good one again?

The demo looks beautiful. I hope there's something of truth in its looks.

I've lost faith in the FF series. I got bored of 9 and never finished it, and I didn't like the look of X and everything afterwards so I never bought them. And Crystal Chronicals was like a chronic disease - original idea and all, but it was just annoying!

And hasn't Hironobu Sakaguchi left Square or something?

Actualy, it did have cloth physics (which were quite good) on Aeris/Aerith's dress.

I don't know about that, considering its very early prototype hardware its running on I think actualy games should look about as good if not better then this tech demo showed.

Yes, he formed Mistwalker studio which is currently making several RPGs for the XBox360.

Final Fantasy died after part 6. part 7 was ok I guess. That PS3 intro does look good. We can only hope that real time games will look this good. however I feel sad because the smaller companies that still make great games just won't be able to produce such levels of graphical candy simply due to the lack of funds, skilled people and time :( Over the PS2/XBOX generation I've seen quite a few of my past fav' companies die such as Compile and Techonosoft. How many more will go?

I hate when people say that. I don't even really like any of the FF's before 7.

Whatever you say. Played an FF1 rom awhile ago. It was boring.

For a while I believed that the FF series died for me at 7. I tried all afterwards hoping that they'd recapture the magic of old, but it just wasn't good anymore I thought. Hell I bought a PS2 for X, that was a disappointment. After that I tried all the old FF's again to see if nostalgia had not influenced my feelings about the old FF's. Meh, on a play through, after all these years latter, they don't really hold up.

Nothing beats FFVI story and FFV gameplay!
FFV is really underrated. after FFVII the series died. too bad. but square is killing even the SaGa serie that i love ;(

saga frontier and romancing saga 3 are just so..... wonderful :D

Good games will still sell, just because a system is capable of amazing GFX doesn't mean it requires you to have them.

No one should worry about devs not being able to keep up. MS and Sony will do their best to make sure tools are there to help everyone.
