This is... the be all of end all Dreamcast games that were canceled. Geist Force!!!!!! Well, a disc that should have the build on it. Here's the deal. The producer for the US version of this game was a good friend of mine from the Saturn days. He was tired of the company and got let go when we went third party. As he was cleaning out his cube I was standing there. I saw this disc and grabbed it and asked if I could have it since it was such a cool piece of Sega history. He said he didn't care and that is how I got this.

This is a burn of Geist Force to be used at the Tokyo game show that year. The disc is labeled "Geist" and the version is "TGS" and the date is "10/7/98" with this being disc "7". This of course was created before the Japanese launch of the Dreamcast and is printed on an official Sega Katana disc.

I tried to boot the game but it won't boot on either a Japanese Dreamcast or American but the American Dreamcast wasn't even a thought at this point. There is something burned on the disc. 548megs total. I don't know where the missing megs are but I can only see a "map.miff" file for 4.6megs and an Audio .aiff track for 35.9megs. It is burned on an ISO so there is something there... I'm just not smart enough to find it. But if you had any questions and suggestions on how I could pull more info just ask. I have both Mac and PC to do it.

This is a seven day auction for the disc. The auction is open worldwide to everyone and the buyer will need to send an international money order or do a bank wire transfer. Not using Paypal. Out of country shipping will be around $35 just to be safe and make sure it gets to you. In the US it will be around $15 for insurance and tracking. Please don't PM me with questions asking to end the auction early since I won't. Post all questions publicly and they will be answered the best I can. You guys should know by my posts here and my eBay auctions that I'm very legit in what I'm offering.

Pics are below and questions are welcome. Auction ends at noon PST on Feb 10th.

All bids need to be public (within this thread) and you may want to keep track of the highest bidder by editing the OP as it changes.

You also need to have a starting price; unless it is starting at $0 in which case I will kick you off by bidding $20!

    Good luck

Starting bid is $200 but seems you left out a zero on your bid ;) I will keep it public then and keep updating the OP.

someone trustable (example assembler) collect some money for that game and we release it to the public? if possible, a lot of people here would collect that and would never release it and that sucks.

    // i overlooked your post. ;)

I think this is Yakumo's personal grail for a long time, I think it would be nice if we could get it for him.

Put me down for $200 shipped to the UK and I'm not sure if I'd go much over to be honest especially as it isn't working at present. Bear in mind if I won I'd probably dump it for half of what I paid and if I ever sold it I'd sell it for the other half (as with Deuce). Please note however this isn't intended to stop bids as people are more than happy to outbid me and some probably will to keep it for themself <evil laugh> though chances are I probably couldn't send the cash until the 16th February (unless my hmrc check arrives and clears sooner)

    P.S. - It's not my holy grail :p

I do not understand that/what you mean?

I only refer to getting it for Yakumo (or other members which it is a personal grail of) because I think we do not get a chance like this very often (to help people see their personal grails).

Stupid question, but... did you put it as-is in a dreamcast, or did you load System Disc 2, and then swapped to the GD-R ?
(GD-R can't be launched on a normal dreamcast without the System Disc 2)

It all comes down to what the chances are of getting something working off that disc.

I'm willing to chip in £100 - £150 to the fund as long as I'm going to end up with something playable on a retail DC.

I worked at Sega from the start of the Dreamcast till it ended... I know how to run GD-R's. I have an official System disc sitting right in front of me.

    That's why I called it a stupid question ;-)
I had to rule out that possibility however, as small as it might be ;-)

Well, that's up to him. He doesn't HAVE to...

People, this is an auction listing. Let's take the banter elsewhere. Offering money for a release is pointless. If you want to release it, bid on it!

I bookmarked this page just for curiosity, i wonder how much it will reach..
I wouldn't bid for a game i'm not sure it is working, at least on a devkit..
