The light makes them way worse than they are. While they are light scratches, none of them are deep at all. Remember that this disc is almost 12 and a half years old.

Again guys, I'm not hiding anything at all about the disc. I'm totally open. Ask me anything like the guy above asking for a pic of the bottom and I'll do what I can with the limited knowledge, computer equipment, and time I have available. I want you guys to be the most informed you can about this before buying it.

 

In that case, tell us what's on the disc. Just try to dump everything with IsoBuster, zip it up, and send it to me. :dance:

Could you use Iso Buster or some other program and mount it as the other people here said (and i said) and try to load the rom with Chankcast or Demul (DC emulators) with modified bios?

 

I don't know about the rest of you, but I love the look of those Katana branded GD-ROM's. I've always wanted one, even a blank.

I'd bid on this if this weren't such a high profile title.

 

No other bidders? BTW DonnyK - if you want to get that System Disc 2 off your hands I'd probably take it for $160 shipped which is around the going rate, provided you haven't scratched the balls off it and can wait a week until payday

I haven't posted all the other stuff I'm going to have for sale here... so hold on to that thought. Ebay is really kicking my ass right now selling all 100 of my promotional shirts one by one (some are passing $100 alone) so as soon as I can catch my breath, I'm going to have a big sale here on Assembler of games I can't sell on ebay (betas, finals, silvers, system discs, other Katana discs, unreleased games) so you may get your chance to grab that Dreamcast System disc after all. Remember, I'm moving and every dollar counts so everything must go...

 

Didn't Kron have a playable Geist Force? I remember reading it some years ago at the dreamcasthistory.com forum.

Can you say for sure this is a playable version (if it works) or maybe it could also only be a video presentation for TGS?

No, can't say anything for sure. What I can say, I've said it here. If it was video, they more than likely would have just burned a DVD though.

 

Donny, have there been any developments re: you and APE hooking up and seeing if you can get the disc to work?

 

I haven't contacted him as he lives far from me and I don't have much free time lately.

Not really. I have a few Saturn promo game video discs that will only play in a Saturn. I'm sure I have a few Dreamcast ones as well. By the at picture you posted though I doubt it's a video disc.

 

I have an old VHS tape about TGS 1998 with a few minuts about Geist Force on it. Maybe I can figure out if it was playable or only a video. But at the same time I doubt that it was playable.

edit: found this http://uk.dreamcast.ign.com/articles/065/065241p1.html, it seems in was only shown in video form.... maybe it was playable behind closed doors, but I think IGN would have played it then.... I think I'm out on this auction :-(

 

I have an old TGS video somewhere that shows people actually playing it. The video is a clip of News Station, a Japanese news program aired around 9pm on weekdays. They quite often do features on game expos and so on.

 

It could also be TGS Spring 1999, even if a quick research about it didn't show results.

I will check my VHS tape and look for my old magazines from 98.

my VHS of TGS1998 doesn't work anymore... it's a Sony...

found a italian mag from November 1998 and it also says that Geist Force was only shown in a video.... hmmm :shrug:
