Guilty Gear is probably as close to Samurai Shodown as we have right now. MAYBE BlazBlue?

 

The legend of Raven game video was posted in 2013...is it still coming out for sure?

 

I do enjoy guilty gear series as well, got out of it for awhile but have the new one on the way actually. I know i'm a little late but I still don't have a PS4 joystick and I've been holding off.

 

I've been wanting to try Yatagarasu for a while now. Apparently the Japanese version is coming out on PS4 and Vita on Nov. 30th, while Legend of Raven will probably be released nevermore at this rate.

Can we not forgot about the incredibly awesome Last Blade series too?

 

I LOVE those! There was still an old arcade machine for Last Blade in one of our hang out spots when I was in Korea many years ago that I loved playing. Dropped a lot of won in that over the year I was there!

 

Last Blade's director later moved on to compose metal music..........and create some game called Guilty Gear.

 

That's awesome man! Unfortunately arcade machines are far and few in the UK but I got a copy of the second one on the Dreamcast back in the day (my go too console for fighting games) and I used to spin it all the time. Such a criminal they haven't made a 3rd but to be honest SNK just doesn't make good games anymore. This thread has brought me a lot of nostalgia!

 

Wow did not know that thanks for sharing. Explains why Guilty Gear feels kinda similar then (especially in the early ones too)

 

Swery of Deadly Premonition fame also worked as a designer on the Last Blade games.

 

Looks like teaser trailer 2 dropped a few days ago, Plus it appears that “Leona” and “Chang Koehan” will be in the game:

 

Game looks sex.
While no longer 2D I will still say nice to have a 2D ish SNK fighter back. I thought Blazeblue would fill the void but that game felt like controlling a turtle in molasses.

If that roster is real, I'm happy with how many characters there are. XIII's anemic roster really sucked.

 

I liked KOF XIII I never won a match online, but the game itself is fun classic KOF.

 

Seems they've continued to update the graphics. Here's a comparison of the last two trailers. (i'd suggest watching it in 1080 or at least 720 to really see the differences). Plus, they may have accidentally slipped on the roster # of fighters.

 

New trailer out. Shows Andy in the new game. Visuals seem to be improving more which is good. I'll remain cautiously optimistic at least until the scene gets some playtime with the playable demo at PS Experience.
