just finished persona 4 couple days ago (second playthrough) it really isn't my kinda game i guess, as a diehard JRPG consumer i've gotten myself used to the fact that when i grind myself to level 99 and all that, i can just walk through the game. but yeah, even with Izanagi-no-okami, best equips for everyone and level 95-99 chars, i got my ass handed to me by Margaret.... I hate this game.
Had this posted before but it got lost in the recovery from the attack we had recently. I played NES Duck Hunt on a Chinese Famiclone known as the Power Joy. Follow along as I go through level 100 of near perfect gameplay on 2 duck mode in an hour. I finally got a game over on level 1 loop 2.
I've recently finished Metro: Last Light and The Last Of Us, both great games. The Last of Us did a good job showing that ruined cities don't have to be brown, similar to how Fragile on the Wii did it.
I just finished Cold Fear (PC edition), and while it was nothing groundbreaking, I thought it was pretty fun.
Last night I tried Starpoint Gemini 2. It is available on Steam Early Access (18.99), and for something absolutely uncompleted it looks brilliant! Awesome graphics, beautiful music and sounds, spectacular space ambient! And STeam throws you first Starpoint game for free as well. This game really came from nowhere and surprised me greatly. Man I remember when I bought Sonic R on release day. I sat up all night unlocking those characters...don't care what people say, it's a pretty good game and the soundtrack is awesome if you like that sort of thing. I think it's just one of those titles where you have to get good at it to appreciate it, but then once you do you kinda run out of things to do. Graphically impressive for a Saturn as well. It's a shame the PC port is so bad.
I remember playing it on the Mega Collection Gamecube release. I have it on the Xbox Mega Collection release now. I beat it in a few hours if memory serves me correctly. Game was too easy. Have to pull it out sometime once I fix my HDD and BIOS problems. Wait. I have a working 1.6 model sitting in storage. I'm in business for tonight.
I just finished Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs. I own the Dark Descent, and while I liked that game, at a certain point I got stuck and was unable to continue. I made several attempts later on, but I still couldn't figure out what to do. So, instead of trying yet again to finish that game, I thought I might as well try its sequel. A Machine for Pigs, though perhaps not as scary as the first game, is really deeply disturbing. It touches on some very dark themes. It's very atmospheric, and it really pulls you into its twisted, deformed world. It makes references to real events (set in the future of the game's story), to literature, and it mixes in some philosophy as well. The gameplay basically consists of exploring, puzzles, and occasional running and hiding. It's not a particularly difficult game, but still challenging enough. I'd recommend it, but only if you have a high tolerance for horror. On a totally different note: I think next I'm going to finish Shenmue, for the thousandth time. I have to play it every now and then, and it's been a while. The last time I played it, I didn't finish it (which has happened several times), but this time I'll resolve myself to playing it all the way through. And then I'd like to play Shenmue II - which will be cool, because I haven't played it as much as the first one, and never on my new monitor.
Shin Megami Tensei IV (3DS) Put in about 80 hours into this. Spent about 15 of those just fusing demons. Boy it starts off really difficulty, but about 3/4 of the way through I was way overlevel and overpowered and cruised through the last few bosses. Got lucky and got the hard to get neutral ending without using a guide, so I doubt ill go for any of the others any time soon.
GTA V. This is just my opinion, but it was nowhere near as good as it was hyped to be. Ok story at best, overpowered police, massive glitches, and other issues. IV is still better IMO...
Uncharted 2 Decent game and definitely a million times better than part 1, but not really worth all those ridiculously high scores...
Played through Wonderful 101 twice. GOTY for me. If you like Viewtiful Joe try and check it out if you can.
