Neverhood has so much more detail than CG could pack in effectively. If you see the making-of , it's amazing. They made full-scale clay models of everything.
I think CG could Easily replicate the Claymation effect. Claymation creeps me out (thanks to this one video I saw in a store when I was 7 and the many many tool videos I've seen)
I played the game, kinda meh IMO. But CG? why spend thousands on that when any kid could make these those? the game didnt use detailed puppets like chicken run, and stop motion animation is pretty simple after some practice with a camera...
It totally misses the point. I just know I sure as hell wouldn't want it to be CG, and I don't think the creators would either. I really am sick of everything being done with computers, especially in movies. Claymation scared me when I was a kid too, actually. I saw Celebrity Deathmatch or something and it freaked me out. I went through a weird stage as a kid where cartoony violence really, really bothered me. I dunno why. I still don't ever want to see it again though. Don't ask. Neverhood? How come?
Didnt thought it was that cool back in the day, but recently I've been playing games (and genres) that I didnt use to, so I'll give it a try. Who knows, maybe it aged well (for me)
When it came out, I got to play it once at a friends house, but I was pretty little and computer games like it were confusing. A few years ago I got ahold of it again, checked it out and suddenly I was on my way to beating it. It's just simple n fun. I just bought a bunch of adventure games for PC. I haven't really played many, but man there fun.
