Then maybe you should get a Saturn and some games....it's a great system ;-) Duke Nukem on PS1 came out before the Dual Shock.
The guys at Lobotomy truly deserve more recognition for the work they did on the Saturn than they got at the time. It was sad that they closed down due to overstretching of resources as I know whatever games they would have come up with on later consoles would have been brilliant. Sadly I'd forgotten about the PS1 version of Quake 2 which was also a great technical achievement.
Megaman 8 was better on the Saturn than on the Playstation - It got extra graphical touches here and there (nicer water effects) plus it also got 2 exclusive boss fights (Cut Man and Wood Man).
I'm confused. Can I use my PS1 controller with the two analogue sticks with Duke Nukem Total Meltdown?
I had to dig out the manual it's either a 30fs4d or 32fs4d-UC it has 2 component in, 1 RCA, 2 S video and 1 HDMI in My Dreamcast looks AMAZING on it through S-Video
S-Video and "AMAZING" in capital letters don't match. "AMAZING" and VGA would match, or RGB if there's no other way. I am currently using my DC via VGA on my LCD TV and it really looks AMAZING. But I think that the DC looks best on a computer/arcade CRT monitor through VGA.
You can, I just remembered the Dual Shock was the first controller with analog sticks, when in fact the Dual Analog (without rumble) was the first. Now, that doesn't mean you'd actually WANT to play the PS1 version of Duke Nukem at all.
The Sophia Dev system had a VGA out. I am not into that system though, maybe someone else could enlighten us if the Saturn dev could really display something in VGA? It wouldn't have looked that great anyway though. Even newer consoles are not perfectly benefitting from higher resolution. Not too long ago I finally tried F-Zero GX in 480p with a component cable and it made the textures look bloody awful. Aliasing all the way too. :-(
It's a testament to how my TV does signals from consoles. I do emulate Dreamcast as well and well... Border down through HDMI...nuff said. (I Do own Border Down but the game fetches such high prices I don't want to even look at the disc)
()? That doesn't make sense. S-Video output is S-Video output. You'll never get better than VGA or RGB. At best your TV just scales better than other TVs, which still doesn't change the fact that the resolution is S-Video.
Like I said if a game is running perfectly on Demul It looks way better through HDMI. But yeah there's just something about the way my TV does S-Video that makes everything look really good. CRT HD TVs are perfect for gaming. If only I could TATE mine.....
Maybe the low quality of the s-video connection is "blurring" the image, making it not look quite as shitty? i dunno, i have 2 s-video ports on my tv, and ive never used them, so i really cant say.
I've used SNES though a Monster S-Video cable...YES it looked like ass. Ditto for Gamecube. Dreamcast not so much
