Were you ever so hooked up to a game that you just couldnt stop playing it? I was, several times, and I'm sure some of you were too:nod: So, this is my list: Sonic 2: God dammit that was a great game! I remember we use to organize parties around the Genesis in my house (since everybody had a Nes) playing by turns until we beated the game. Good times... S&K+S3: Sonic 3 was just too short so I stop playing it in no time, but when the lock-on came by I remember playing through entire weekends in co-op trying to beat that frigging long game. Man it was huge! like 12 levels or even more just with sonic and tails. VirtualON: Oh man, I cant even believe how crazy I was over this game. I remember playing it for the first time in the Epcot (they had all these Saturns at Innovations) and was totally hooked to it. My dad was all angry and shit cuz I didnt go to any of the rides (just keep playing the games) and the ticket was $40 bucks while it woulda been cheaper if he send me to an arcade:lol:. But the irony was that this is the only game that I always had to play alone cuz nobody I know thought it was fun. DaytonaUSA: I was hookep up to both the arcade and the Saturn version. It was the first time a racing game managed to grab my attention for such a long time. I'm still traying to get a used arcade unit, but the main problem is where to put it, since is HUGE... StarFox 64: "all-range mode" man that games was the coolest shooter ever, the graphics at the time were awesome! and you could play it by hours and still have some stuff to discover. Truly an amazing game, worth every buck you pay for it. Conker's Bad Fur Day: "here I am you greddy bastard!" not many N64 games had voiceovers for the characters, but both Starfox and Conker have some of the best in videogame history. Back to the game, if Conker was a movie it would beat the shit of any adult animation, no matter if its south park or family guy. You just have to give some credit to the guys that made this game, since they made a script that rivals those of most hollywood comedians. BTW, this game was a bitch to get ahold: when it was released I could only rent it in my local blockbuster since most stores didnt even knew about the game! let alone have it in stock. Luckily I found a store that had ONE UNIT left, or else I would have to buy a used one. Sonic Adventure: I had the oportunity to play it the day after the japanese launch, and I was stunned by the graphics, I just couldnt believe it was in real time (remember it was 1998, and most gamers were crazy over Zelda's graphics....). Even with all the bugs and glitches it was a good game, but the reason why I was hooked to it is becos it was the first good sonic game in like 4 years! and finally in 3D dammit!. The story was pretty cool but the english voiceovers, man! they should kill the actors... Crazy Taxi: the arcade didnt convice me but the Dreamcast version was really fun and I played it for months. Plus I was an Offspring fan so the soundtrack was the best possible one. I remember my sister saying "finally a game with some decent music!" PSO: I played it trought 3 weeks in a row! I was CRAZY! it was the first time I was so hooked to a game that I didnt play other games at all! To my credit I droped the game when cheaters started to be almost everywhere, and havent played it since then. Rez: I discovered this game almost 2 years after the DCs demise, but it impressed me anyways. Some of my friends were completely shocked by the whole idea of "Synasthesia" and one (which BTW is a musician) even wanted to show it in public during a small concert. I still believe SEGA could've made a shitload of money just selling Rez to stoners:nod: Rogue Squadron II-Rogue Leader: this game was the shit! when I saw the graphics it was like BAM! Not since SA1 I was so impressed by a game's graphics. Controls were great and the gameplay fast paced, what else could you ask for in a SW game? Fzero GX: I played FzeroX in N64 and while it wasnt bad I didnt like it, and looked pretty overhyped for what really was. GX on the other hand was awesome, it really managed to make you feel you were going at Mach1. Graphics were great too, and the track designs were marvelous, much better than other games like Wipeout. Operation Flashpoint: I was playing on LANs since Duke Nukem 3D (to be exact, it was over a parallel port) but Flashpoint LANparties were the first, and theres nothing better than playing in big ass scenarios with a buttload of weapons and vehicles with all the details. Screw Halo!:110: Homeworld 2: You arent a man until you have commanded 10 battlecruisers to the enemy stronghold using hyperspace. Best RTS ever, not a doubt about that.. And I think thats all.... Not that I havent played anything else in all these years, but theres no new games lately that really make you want to play them over and over again. Honorable Mention: House of the Dead 2 (arcade) it wasnt the best game around, and in fact I liked the first one more, but playing HotD2 is how I meet my current girlfriend, whos a gamer and a hot one too! Who says you gotta go to nightclubs?:033:
hmmm.. Streets of Rage 2 -M/D - No matter how many times i completed it, i still went back for more! StarFox - SNES SOOOOOOOO addictive! Operation Wolf - C64 Again very addictive.. only time my enthusiasm waned was during the massive loading times! G-Police - PS1 - Im sure at one point i thought i was futuristic Helicopter pilot Cop! Yakumo
the orginal settlers on amiga, and settlers 2 on pc, i lost many hours of my life (and nearly my girlfriend at the time) to those damned games!
New found love for Yakumo  Mine: Chucky Egg (Spectrum) Pac Man Super Mario Bros. 3 (it was pretty hard without the save of SM Allstars) Street Fighter 2 (and still playing it now) Super Mario Kart FZero (SNES) Vandal Hearts (I totally completed it, even the God stages) Ridge Racer Jet Set Radio PSO Everquest I find these days games don't hook me like they used to. I think I don't get into games as much as I did as a kid, when one game had to last me several months until I could afford to buy another one. Those were the days when I could learn a game inside out. Now adays I have large numbers of games I have only played a few times but deserve much more play time Props for the G-Police mention Festerfly. That was a fantastic under-rated game back in the day. My best games experiences were with the PS. I remember skipping school for the day once, back when SFZ3 arrived from Consoleking (a cheap importer that advertised in Edge but vanished years ago).
lol the first Playstation IMHO was cool and deserved its success, PS2 killed Dreamcast so we hate it :icon_bigg. Sabre
I think if I count up all the "total playtime" hours on all N64 4 player splitscreen supported games I have, I've probably got more playtime there than on any other console and game. So one could say I was a total N64 addict and that my controller budget on the N64 was possibly bigger than my game budget. (Even though I probably bought like a total of 30+ games during the period of Euro Launch 'til Conker's Bad Fûr Day and Banjo Tooie.
f-zero final fantasy VI FINAL FANTASY TACTICS (i'm still hooked!) Gran Turismo 2 wipeout fusion SENSIBLE WORLD OF SOCCER (what a GAME!) Super Aleste ACTRAISER (PERFECT GAME)
yep, still do as well  and what originals do I own on it? Loads of crazy Japanese shit Parapa the Rappa Bust - a - Move (The Enix game) Ridge Racer Ridge Racer Revolution Ridge Racer 4 Metal Gear Gran Tourismo (shite. Sorry but I think it's crap) Clock Tower 3 and err...... that's it. Yakumo
I was hooked on the resident evill games for the PS1 I remember all those times going up to my friends to always play resi or if we called for our other mates a great 4 player game of 007 goldeneye on the n64.

Virtua Fighter 2 Sega Rally NIGHTS into Dreams Elevator Action Returns + some shooters and NeoGeo ports Playstation (i bought it in 98) Tekken 3 i think i was the best player in the world ;-) Soul Edge like Tekken 3  Gran Turismo 2 awesome! Lots of games but few come to mind. Mortal Kombat (Arcade) Mortal Kombat II (SNES) Goldeneye (N64) Perfect Dark (N64) Killer Instinct (SNES&Arcade) Gears of War
Yes that could mean anything from a couple of games to several hundred titles... Anyway for me.... Daytona USA - Arcade - Spent far too much money on this and still spend far too much money on it as there is one in Shibuya as well as one of the large arcades in Tokyo Bay. Puyo Puyo Tsu - Megadrive/Arcade - It's one of the most perfect games ever and there is something magical when Arle says Aee, Fire, Ice Storm, Fire Gutten (no never could understand what she was saying in the MD speech chip) and I still get my butt kicked on it at one of the arcades in Shinjuku that have it. Tetris DX - Gameboy Color - Stranglely addictive, still like play Ultra mode where you have a fixed time to get the best score possible. The GBC screen is very clean and crisp so is great to use. Super Real Mahjong P II & III Custom - PC Engine - SRM early games had a system where you had very few points to start off with and every time you won a hand, the character you played would take her clothes off and if you lost she would put them back on, unless she got a extremely good hand and made you lose all your points so you would have to start again, and I have to do this six times??? I like Mahjong and it was a challenge if nothing else. Gran Turismo 4 - Playstation 2 - Not a perfect game, but still the best driving / racing game there is and spent far too much time learning each car, setting it up and swearing as a clip a corner just a little too much. Sega Rally - Sega Saturn - I must have played this to death, powersliding around corners, pressing the shoulder buttons to change gear, beating the then fastest times in the magazines by a few seconds, it was heaven and it only had 4 tracks and 2 cars, nowdays people would complain unless it had 6 million cars and 25,000 tracks. Skywolf - Arcade - A nice side scrolling shoot 'em up, that was quite difficult as things would appear and kill you too quickly. Had some nice easter eggs too. Donkey Kong - Arcade - When I was a wee kid, I used to put my 10ps into this and play it to death and annoyed the chip shop owner by making my 10p last for an hour... Mr Do! Castle - Arcade - Again another game I got hooked on and played to death, once I was playing it around lunchtime and I was doing brilliantly and the place was closed and because they didn't want to refund me my 10p, they just let me stand there for another 50 minutes until I lost all my lives.
Hmmm.... I'd Say This are just games I played to the end without needing extended periods away. Or I played for quite awhile straight Cube Metroid Prime Pikmin Resident Evil Remake Animal Crossing (This thing controled my life for awhile...Heck I even bought the e-reader cards) PSX Jumping Flash! Jumping Flash! 2 Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX Twisted Metal 2 Gameboy/ GBA Pokemon Red and Blue Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 Genesis Disney's Aladdin Puggsy - Genesis : I loved this great platformer, do yourself a favor and play it if you haven't. PS2 Grand Theft Auto: Vice City - PS2 Dark Cloud: Probably one of my favorite RPGs when I look back... I never completled it, but I definitely wish I had. I played it for weeks straight until I think it was my birthday and I was overwhelmed with Videogame presents. N64 Super Mario 64 Majora's Mask: imo the best Zelda, I liked the strangeand unpredictble story. It leaves alot up to the imagination, with your twiilight princess & ocarina it just seemed too standard, though I liked the new and crazy difference in Wind Waker...it wasn't as good and it didn't Hook me.)
I m refraining from posting. Too much to mention, but one might say that I m an n64-holic. That said, I have enjoyed countless other consoles and games to death, and I usually only play games I m hooked to, I don't play games as a pass-time, I play them to 'educate' myself, in a subjective way One of my main problems, ever since I was a kid, was trying to second-guess how the game was made and try to understand the triggers/written code by playing it. That's also part of the fun for me!
