The one game that took up more time in my life then any other has to be Dreamcast Phantasy Star On-Line 1 & Ver.2 EVERY NIGHT from 11:30pm till 6am I would play that for almost a whole year! It was the first ever online game I'd really played and what a game to start off on. The whole game from the lobby to the actual game was magical. Yakumo
Back in the NES days (my first console) it was Kid Icarus and Cobra Triangle, then in the PlayStation era (I missed the 16-bit era) the first game I bought was Wipeout, which I played religously for years...
i did that with a buddy of mine back in high school. we played it to the gundam seed opening song "invoke" on loop for 8 hours strait one weekend. as far as games that i've been hooked on... Thief 1 & 2- this was my first stealth game and i would play it over and over again. after beating it i'd making rules for myself like "if the guards even think someones there i'd have to restart" Starcraft- one of the few games i'm still playing even after playing for the past 10 years Soulcalibur (dreamcast)- my first dreamcast game. got everything in that game, then my VMU died so i did it again.

I've played lots of games in my life, but the games I played the most are Pokemon Yellow/Red/Blue, I used to play these games a lot back in 1999, I still remember trading Pokemon and having battles via Link Cable during class!
The Mega-Drive Shadowrun always sucks me in whenever I replay it. Brutally difficult but addicting. Shiren the Wanderer on the DS is unbelievably addicting. I can't believe I spent so much time tackling the near-impossible 99-level cave.
Playstation 1: Resident Evil (all) Medal of honour (the original) F1 games (Bizzare Creation's ones) But the biggest game(s) that had me hooked has to be: Max Payne on the PC Can't remember how many times i've sold and re-bought max payne but its an excellent game and was one of the first games i sat and played everyday on my PC to complete. Fahrenheit on the Xbox It was a game i got when i picked up a 2nd xbox and it looked quite good but as soon as i stared playing it and getting further into the game i just kept comming back because of its story and its interactive sections
System Shock 1 and 2. I must have played these two games a million times over. I've still got the games in their respective original release PC big boxes.
