I finally got rid of that 14 year old typical computer desk and replaced it with a nice modern but cheap "L" desk as they are called here. I guess in the rest of the world it would be called a corner desk?

I like it but the missus wasn't happy at all. But hey, like I care :p It's my room.

That's kinda similar to my desk, except mine isn't L-shaped. Why didn't she like it?

Because it blocks the patio doors. The thing is, I used to have all manner of crap on the floor in that area anyway so it's not like anyone could walk there plus we NEVER open that side of the patio door anyway. She'll come round to it though once she sees how comfortable it is to type on the computer. Just need to get a better chair for the desk area.

I really like it though because now I have everything I need near my PC such as the laptop which I use for making the Battle of the Port videos. No more having to run across the run every time the home computer emulators need button presses :). Also, my turntable is there too which is always connected to the PC. I couldn't be happier although cable management is a real pain in the arse. The 1GBPS modem on to of the PC alone has 7 cables. The power cable, fibre optic in cable plus a phone line cable. Then there's the PC out, Laptop out, XBOX out and WiFi out. I could use WiFi for the laptop and Xbox but I choose hardwired for obvious reasons. The WiFi is used by the Wii in the living room, my wife's netbook and my phone and tablet.

TV Thinness is overrated! :p I'll take a slightly bulky HQ TV over a thin and shoddy one anyday.

Now that you mention it, I don't think anyone has shown off a HD CRT TV. Learned about them in another forum, and CRTs are the best for gaming no?

I did about 2 years ago and I can tell you that the image quality is awful on them because they use really poor upscanning hardware due to their age.

Hmm, very cramped but at least you have an arcade cab in your room.

Not the best setup but oh well. The TV looks much better in person than in the picture.
