If you want to make it look tidy then buying the connecting cables and cutting the strip is the best way to do it but to be honest the method I used is messy on the corners but once it's installed you can't see it unless you look around the back of the TV. Also, try to buy the waterproof led strips because those defuse the light due to the plastic housing giving a much better ambient look.
no problem. It can give others an idea of how easy it is to install. Although looking back I should have took the time and cut the strip and soldered points. I could still do that mind you.
I have recently gotten married and got a new place north-east of Singapore where I can call home. Just sharing some of pics of my place "man-cave" and storage area.
My Storage area (Apartment these days are so small and expensive!) Cost me close to half a million for a small place in Singapore.
Some of you guys have really neat places. Makes me feel embarassed when I look at my crate cluttered 19th century stone dungeon.
Tv area looks a bit cramped and you'd be looking up the whole time. Wouldn't that hurt your neck? Such a nice place though.
You haven't been looking then http://www.ambilight.philips.com/en_UK/ambilight They've got amibilight all around now and can be switched on when the TV is off and can be brigded with HUE. Really tempted to get one but my next TV will be OLED and nothing else. Also here's a DIY Ambilight tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kf2WNVrerck&index=1&list=PLXoRjUTqDRXAQ3dso28UlAdFq-uRsXJkk his English is funny btw ><
Here's a quick update of my setup. Adding some strip lights which are controlled by remote (brightness, colour, mode), hooked up to a USB hub, connected to the TV's USB port. LEDs, show up as blue on the camera, but they actually white light. They're RGB so I can change them whenever or make them cycle, but flashing is annoying. Don't have any HDMI switches yet, and the AV switch is controlling the PS2, Saturn and N64 at the moment. I'm going to get some component cables for the PS2 though.
Did a short video a few weeks back of my current selection of games I have ready for play and consoles currently set up.
Wow, love the way how u sort out your items! Your room really seem quite small too thus all your gaming items a spread throughout the entire house I guess, hope your wife is understanding on it. =)
Yeah, my room is pretty small but I can keep most of my stuff in it. The only other room I hav gaming stuff in is the bedroom. The living room has a PC, Wii and a few 3DS consoles but they're now that mine.
My setup is almost ready to go. The aim is to relive my childhood, so I'm only after consoles that I grew up with (owned or played at friends' houses), or current gen systems (but these aren't so important to me). So far, only the Xboxes and Satellite DVR are wired up. I'm waiting on delivery of an xRGB Mini - This will convert my retro consoles video signals into something that my current receiver/projector will be able to display. Equipment: -Optoma HD67N Projector (720p but looks pretty damn good) - projects directly onto white painted wall -Onkyo TS NR616 Receiver (7.2 surround, 8 HDMI in, upscaling etc etc) -Sony 7.2 surround speakers -3x IKEA 'Mosjo' TV stands, screwed together -SNES, N64, Gamecube, Mega Drive (Genesis), Xbox 360, Xbox One. Still need the following consoles before I'll be happy with it: Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast, NES, Wii, PS2, PS3, Commodore Amiga 500 I'd love something like the 8-1 auto switching scart unit that is currently being developed by a member here. Just thought I'd share with you guys. Cheers!
Lovely setup, FaZyCrUcK. Been thinking of the projector rout myself but would like one of those ones that sit below the surface it's being g projected on to.
Me too, but I checked the bank, and I don't have 28 million pounds unfortunately It is a nice setup, but the downside is I can't use a Nintendo Wii, or Xbox kinect. Standing up blocks the projector, sadly.
