Group buy: Universal Saturn modchips

The original price of $21 was for a different modchip, this modchip is of superior quality and should be compatible in all Saturn models if I'm understanding things correctly. The price of $26 is what I'm asking and if anyone wishes to change their mind I'm sure there will be a straggler or two interested.

Currently 82 modchips are spoken for by posts in this thread and the remaining boards are for my own purposes. Additional requests will be considered AFTER everyone on my spreadsheet has had enough time to shoot me a PM and pay for their respective boards. That said anyone wishing to get in on whatever is left should post below stating the quantity desired and I will offer any remaining modchips in a first come first served manner.

 

I'll take 1 if there are any leftovers.

How do they look by now? And what can you say about the specs?

 

I'm interested, but will wait until there's a way to get them directly from Bad_Ad84 or at least someone else in europe. Shipping them over to Caleefornya and then back doesn't make much sense and needlessly drives up the prices. Or will you be dropshipping them, APE?

 

From what I understand Bad_Ad84 isn't interested in doing low volume sales with these chips but don't take my word for it, hopefully Zer0 or Bad_Ad84 can tell us what will be available and where. Shipping to Germany is <$10USD which still makes it for a very inexpensive purchase.

I cannot speak for them personally as I don't have them in my hands yet but it would appear they're universal for all Saturns from all regions (don't quote me on that, I didn't play any role in their construction). Here is a updated picture on the modchip, of course there 2 parts we have to assemble. Me and Bad_Ad84 have decided to go with the name "Phantom Universal"

For one chip it looks like most countries will be <$10 for first-class mail in a heavily padded envelope. If anyone wants priority mail they will need to specify that in their PM to me. Right now I'm PMing those who made larger requests and this time next week I'll be sending PMs out to the stragglers so that I can reallocate the chips to those who did not post already.

I'm hesitant to be more specific than that as I'm making the assumption these chips will weigh about that of a DMS4 or one of my existing Saturn chips. Some countries I'm going to require registered mail due to packages being lost in the past. Off the top of my head the list includes South Africa, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Russia, and Portugal.

 

I'd like to be added to the stragglers list for one please.

Under what circumstances would we need more than one?

 

Your existing ribbon is questionable or you need something longer/shorter than what this is coming with (of which I don't know how long the ribbons will be right now). I recently acquired three Saturns that, best I can tell, had never been opened before and one of them had a ribbon with a weird red stripe that was disseminating through the rest of the ribbon. It seems to work just fine but I don't trust it.

Mostly I'd just like to offer the possibility for anyone so they don't spend as much on shipping as a single ribbon would be.

Just for the 0014 and 0019 jumpers. From the pictures it would appear we don't have anything else to worry about. There aren't any words in the English language to express how excited I am over this modchip. After dealing with 20-30 different modchip varieties over the years this is a more than welcome breath of fresh air.

I've put you down for four in case anyone drops out, I've gotten very few PMs so far so you'll likely get what you want.
