Guys, as of yesterday 30% of all switches are tested. This week it's gonna be done.

I'd like to preorder one of these switches. RetroRGB isn't accepting preorders though :(

You'll have to be quick, after @superg gives the go and contact RetroRGB immediatelly after the starting shot, or you'll have to wait for the next batch.

Btw... I'm in the exact same Situation.

Ok, most switches are on their way to retrorgb.
The final units will follow somewhere next week, I'm waiting for some parts to arrive from digikey.

Now some warning, I remember we've had a conversation about VGA->SCART, I'm too lazy to search the thread:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/361224212922
I've ordered it just to check and it has nothing to do with VGA, it's not routed using RGB but rather some unused pins for a very specific reason (probably some projector stuff)
    Don't buy it.

JP21: cable lady didn't get back to me. I'm going to order some amount of JP21 units anyways, some of you may want to use VGA connectivity, other will have either to wait until I'll figure out the cable or solder one themselves.

New project: in the background I was working on a component switch. Schematics and PCB is ready for testing. It's gonna be 4:1 active Composite/Component switch with focus on game consoles / quality. I've seen some available solutions which have it's own flaws. There aren't many game consoles with component output (I don't count those with digital output like HDMI), just PS2, XBox, WII and GameCube so 4:1 switching will suffice (daisy chaining surely will be supported). Same approach as gscartsw, automatic switching. The design is so much simpler than gscartsw which means it should be a lot cheaper to make.

Component switch sounds promising! Will you start a new thread or keep posting to this one? If you do start a new one, could you put a link to it here?

I'll start a new thread once I'll have a prototype to show. Will surely post the link here.

I will definitely buy a component switch too, not too happy with the one I'm using.

Thankyou for testing the VGA to SCART lead, I'm interested in being able to use the GSCARTSw VGA out to go into my CRT, whilst simultaneously using the SCART out into my XRGB Mini. I nearly bought that cable too, thanks for saving my cash.

is it correct that retrorgb will ship to US exclusively? It says on their website:

$3.00 flat-rate per order + $14.00 for this item. Ships within 5 business days to US addresses only.

    Component Switch? Yes please.

There are Component Cables being made for SNES/MD at the least and you can easily get Component out of the NESRGB and a few others. (The Component board for the NESRGB can also be used in some MD's) There is also the Wii/GCN

So the ability to daisy chain without quality loss will be a must!

I have the following systems I use component with.
    PS3 (To CRT for DVDs)
    PS2
    Xbox
    SNES
    MD
    NES
    PSPGo(For PS1 games)

When the new GCVideo lite solutions are available i'll be adding GCN as well.

    So yeah more than 4

I’m planning to get a VGA to RGBs (BNC) cable to use with the switch. Any Idea how to make sure that the cable is properly wired for that? Prior to buying, I mean?

/Edit: As far as I understand, gscartsw can be toggled to output Csync or Hsync on VGA pin 13. There are VGA to 4BNC cables that combine H+V but I’d rather have a cable that simply connects VGA pin 13 to a BNC connector. So basically pin 1, 2, 3, 13 -> BNC. Does anything like this exist?

That's what I use here for testing.

Wait, so the VGA output can output a standard csync signal that's compatible with RGB enabled PVM''s etc?
Man that is sweet. I won't even need to use my scart distribution amplifier to feed my PVM and Framemeister...

Can't wait to preorder one now.

    Thanks, will buy!

That’s (to me, among other nice things) the really, really sweet thing about this thing.

Trying to find somewhere in the UK to get one of those VGA to BNC cables. The only one I can find is this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111402258315

Do you think the black BNC will be attached to pin 13?

Also the listing says 75 ohms. What is that referring to?
