This might not help you in any way but I will double appreciate mine, knowing that you hand-soldered so much of it.

This may be slightly off topic, but given this item's current lack of availability and me wanting something sooner.. Is paying about $60 US for a Bandridge 5-Way SCART selector a good deal?

It would likely be much faster than end of April because PCB's are here and I'm soldering those like crazy.
There will be some extra switches available, once RetroRGB will have those I'll post a message here and you guys will be able to buy it if you're fast enough.
So subscribe to the thread :)

If you don't mind clicking the button every time you wanna switch and you will be able to cut one thread on the PCB (bandridge power fix) it could be a good choice for you. Although it doesn't have VGA, SyncStripper and other nice stuff.

This is why I have waited almost 2 years for the JP21 version. It's going to be the best you can possibly get.

Oh, actually speaking about JP21. I'm ready to order the initial batch and everything is ready.
But JP21 male-to-male cables are still a problem and that lady who does cables on eBay is unreliable. I've sent her a diagram and we agreed that she will get back to me 3 weeks ago - still nothing from her. I am man of my word and I can't stand when somebody agrees to something and disappears. I understand people can be busy but here I see a total lack of communication and I hate wasting my time.
That said I still have to find a reliable source of those cables because I totally don't enjoy doing these myself :).

I have one of those Bandridge blocks and have cut the trace as Superg says. It's the best all rounder I have tried but good cables are a necessity. Looking great on the GSCART too, I'm really excited now!

Shot in the dark on the cables, but you could try reaching out to these guys:
    http://www.jamma-nation-x.com/jammax/contact.php

I know they make various custom items and I do believe they make cables, but not sure if they're up for doing tens of them at once. I hope things work out!

Yeah I'll be doing sync through all of my connections, and connecting to a XRGB Mini. I have no idea how to "cut" what looks like a solder point from the image though...

But LOL just got outbid at the last possible second.

Wow, to think that you do all the soldering yourself, superg. Must be difficult to make these with such high demand. Great work and I can't wait to get my hands on this.

Wow, I'm surprised to hear that. She's usually a couple days behind on eBay, but she always replies to me. I'd shake that tree again if I were you. Everyone swears by the quality of her cables. Of course, I haven't tested mine yet because I don't have a switch. I'm hoping for one of the extras.

I should be treated as one of the clients, right?
Yet I don't get that kind of service :)

Yup. I hear you, and agree. I'm just saying that it's very out of character for her. Pretty much everyone uses her cables and recommends them. I just think that if you're going through the hassle of doing all of this work on the switches by hand, you don't want someone to foul it up with lousy cables. It's very odd that she hasn't replied though, seems very unlike her.

The retro_console_accessories lady responded to a question of mine a couple days after I'd asked, so yeah, she probably gets bombarded with queries. She just put up a fresh batch of cables on her store (which she says happens on every Monday at 9am eastern, in case people want to know) and I purchased a SNES CSYNC Euro SCART from her, along with a Euro SCART to XRGB Mini cable. Everyone says her cables are the best, so here goes. I hope she responds to you soon, superg.

FWIW, If you don't use the 5th input, you can leave it un-modded with no ill effects. I used to use a couple daisy-chained (un-modded) Bandridge switches before I decided I needed a 12-input switcher.

Everyone swears by her because she's the only game in town. This isn't necessarily a knock on her quality, but her only competition is in the UK, so it's not like most people in the States have a bevy of options to choose from.

Agree with superg that there's really no excuse for not following up, a client is a client. If she can't fulfill his request she should just tell him that so he can explore other options.

Thanks for the response! I am subscribed and will be watching like a hawk... although I might have used up my luck for this year already by finding a Sony BWM-20F1U in perfect condition for $51 at a public surplus sale last week...

superg, I have suggestions why don't you start a kick starter this switch and deal with a company to make the switch and make the company distribute it to the consumers. Everybody who contribute will be able to get their order and there be no waiting list.

    What do you think?
