Okay, just a quick question that I'm sure has been answered here already but I'd just like to be 100% clear. Will any sync signal activate the switch?

    What is meant by any?
Composite and clean sync were tested by me. Sync on luma (Y) is likely to work but I haven't tried.

    That Switch looks awesome!

Will it be available in Germany any time soon?

At RetroRGB they tell you "This item is currently out of stock. Please check back in March." It is March, but i guess, i just have to be patient and wait. No Problem.

But they also say "Shipping: $3.00 flat-rate per order + $14.00 for this item. US addresses only." And that is a Problem (for me at least).

The switches ship worldwide. The link you see is my US store only...all international pre-orders had to go though PayPal. I wanted to set up a new web store before the pre-order, but didn't have time.

Also, I just changed it to "Please check back in late March" :)

Awesome, I'll be on the lookout. What's the best way to be updated about the next batch of pre-orders? RetroRGB Twitter?

I post on both Facebook and Twitter at the same time, but Twitter messages pop up instantly on your phone.

I still haven't got any update from my manufacturer. PCB boards are fabricated and they are waiting for all the components to arrive (lead-time 7-14 days). I will be contacting them on Monday about the status, will post here as soon as I'll have any info.
If they will finish the assembly next week I'll get everything here by the end of March. Just so you know, sorry for any inconvenience.

Thanks superg, I know we're all eagerly anticipating the eventual ship announcement. *I'll survive, it's just a couple more weeks...*

Good news: manufacturer contacted me today - the assembly is done. They should ship it in a few days from now and what's left is to solder all plastic parts (my responsibility), test the switches and ship it to RetroRGB for the distribution.
    Stay tuned.

    PCB's have just arrived here.
I will be soldering plastic components over the weekend and will report on the progress.

Very awesome! Thanks again for the updates.

Can you share any pics of the boards through the process from start to finish? Just like seeing that kinda stuff.

That's what I get, then I solder SCARTs VGA, DC jack, LED and toggle switches.
Then testing and putting the case on.

EDIT: first switch is done, everything works perfectly. Now it'll depend on how fast I'll solder / assemble / test.

Wow, so all 220(+?) solder points for the through-hole components are hand-soldered for each switch? I didn't realize how much of the assembly remained post-manufacturer. My hat is off to you sir.

Precisely, I do solder 21*9 = 189 SCART pins for every switch myself. All other stuff like VGA, DC & audio jacks, LED adds to 220+ total points per switch.
It is time consuming and I want to find a way not to do it anymore but labor here (the US) is extremely expensive.

I know you are in apparently high demand for these, and the site now says end of April... is there any kind of list I could get on to get one of these? I'm looking for a good one, and all the others seem like a waste of money compared to yours... but I hate just having to check back randomly hoping orders come up.
