No, that stuff isn't wired properly!
Check my replies a few pages back, we've discussed this particular cable here.
I thought you want VGA to component, no?

Thanks...yeah, I have a SCART to Component box that I've used to connect RGB modded systems to a standard Sony US Tv CRT which has component. So was thinking of going out from the VGA somehow, into my "SCART to Component" box, if possible.

It sounds kind of silly if you consider the scart switch already having a SCART out, but that is the one I would use for a framemeister.

Hmm, re earlier replies - I saw a VGA to BNC cable reference in an earlier message (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111402258315), maybe this is what you were referring to, but that's not what I would need. I'm not using a PVM/BVM CRT or anything like that. Just component on a Sony US Tv

I'm thinking my best bet would be what I referenced earlier: https://amzn.com/B009GUQIPG. Just had some reservations about it based on feedback that these units tend to run 'hot'.

Sorry for all the details, but thanks for info! (and the switch!!)

Personally I've never tried that Monoprice box so I don't know if that would work. My point is just to use less adapters if you care about picture quality because everything affects quality and/or latency. It could be insignificant for sure but I'd rather mention it before you purchase something. Read this thread, I remember somebody was talking about proper VGA to SCART passthrough adapter cable.

Guys, I'm going to cut off SCART version pre-order Sunday evening. JP21 version will hang for another week or two because not many have been ordered.
In parallel my manufacturer received all the latest technical docs and is ready to start the SCART version. There is one problem I am currently working on: SCART connectors are sold out almost everywhere. I'm trying to contact some manufacturers to order more. It may happen that different SCART connectors will be used, hope that'll work for you all.

How do you mean "different"? Different color ? They can't vary in size/shape, right?

I'm happy with the change in SCART sockets providing the quality of the components remains the same.

They are usually black however they may have mounting holes (the current ones don't). Of course they remain SCART so I wouldn't worry about connectivity :)

As long as there is no difference in quality with the replacement sockets, I really doubt anyone would have issue with it. If it's just a minor cosmetic change and doesn't affect anything it's cool with me anyway.

    Exactly this!

Ok, I've limited SCART pre-orders and only 2 units left to order (to get a lice round number)
I'm getting a manufacturer quote today-tomorrow and order everything next week. Will keep everybody posted.

JP21 pre-orders will remain opened until I'll get enough to manufacture.

    Hi all,

    Another question...

So I currently have 19 consoles connected to a Grundig RGB TV with 2 RGB scart slots (im from Australia) and if your curios they are all 60hz or 60hz modded so no black bars for me. I also recently acquired a PVM (with RGB) which works but not setup yet.

Now, reading nearly all the content on Retro RGB website, none of my 19 consoles have any special cable that incorporate a sync stripper. They are all basic RGB cables that i bought around 7 years ago. 7 years ago nobody knew and how or what C sync means!

As my Sony PVM - 20M4A will require sync to be stripped, will the gscartsw on/off switch be enough to strip the sync? or do i have to buy an additonal Sync Strike? (i also have a scart to bnc adapter from retro gaming cables here already)

Second question - Can I daisy chain a bandridge scart 5 port switch to the gscartsw? I know you can daisy chain 2 gscartsw switches but will work with my bandridge scart switch?

I can't speak to the Bandridge specifically, but I was able to successfully daisy chain a Hama (unpowered) switch as well as a Shinybow (powered) distributor. OOC, why does the PVM require stripped sync?

Just the gscartsw is fine, you won't need anything else.

    You should be able to.

Sorry for the short replies...not being snippy, just really busy today.

RetroRGB is correct. Integrated sync stripper will work for both VGA (in CSYNC mode) and SCART.

So I finally sat down with my NES tonight and I was getting a loud buzz from the audio. It was so much that it was noticeable above the music of the game. I tested other systems and had varying results (SNES, quieter, Saturn, much louder, DC about the same as NES). When I initially posted, I just did a visual test, not audio, so I didn't notice it until now. When I removed the switch (and the male to male cable as well) and went back directly into the XRGB Mini, things went back to the way they were.

I am sending the male to male cable back to my friend who made it to take a look at it. He did end up wiring AV Control, YM and YS fwiw.

Superg, is this buzz something the gscartw (JP21 version) could introduce? Just trying to rule out the switch if possible.

No, it's the cable, and NES cable is even making it worse. Ask your friend to wire all audio lines using separate cable if you can, it's an ultimate fix.

I pointed him to this thread and he's going to do just that once I send the cable back to him. Thank you for the quick response!

    SCART version update:
I've transferred all the funds to my manufacturer and SCART connectors have also been ordered so it looks like everything from my side is done.
I will have limited access to internet for the next few days, FYI.
