I don't think there is such thing as 15KHz->31KHz conversion - you simply can't add more detail if your source is 15KHz, just connect gscartsw to SLG3000 and see what happens. RGBHV switch affects only VGA connector, it's always RGBS on SCART output. Hope that explains it.

From my understanding, the GBS-8200 takes the signal and doubles the number of lines, thus outputting a 640x480 31KHz signal. Here's the specifications: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Gonbes-GBS-...AMMA-PCB-to-VGA-Video-Converter-/111462780792
According to the site below (sorry I forgot to put the link in my last post), you can put a 15KHz signal directly into the SLG3000, but it will double the width of the scan lines and thus not look as good a 31KHz signal.
    https://www.videogameperfection.com/2012/03/09/using-and-integrating-the-slg3000-scanline-generator/
I guess my best bet would be to try out the SLG3000 without a GBS-8200 and see how the image looks. Then try adding a GBS-8200 if I need to. They're pretty cheap on ebay, so it's no big deal either way.
Awesome! This is exactly what I was looking for! Thanks for answering all my questions so quickly!

Edit: On further inspection, it looks like I definitely will need a GBS-8200 or similar line doubler device in between the gscartsw and the SLG3000. The forum thread below explains explains exactly how to do this.

If you want a simpler setup, the OSSC combines the features of the GBS-8200 and the SLG3000.

Edit: never mind, you need an analog output. The scanline generator made me think you're using a digital monitor.

Hello, I'm also interested to hook 16 devices, and here's my setup : Master System, AV Famicom (RGB), Megadrive 1 + 32X (RGB), PC Engine Duo (RGB), Super Nes Jr RGB (Gamecube Cable + Csync), Playstation (Csync), Playstation 2 (Csync), Xbox (Csync), Atari 7800 (RGB), Saturn Jap (RGB + Csync), Gamecube (RGB + Csync), Wii (RGB), Neo Geo Omega (RGB), Nintendo 64 (RGB modded + Csync). Raspberry pi with RGB Scart. They are all hooked to a PVM 20L4 through an RGB Breakout + Sync strike. Is there any incompatibility with this setup ? When would you take orders again ? Best regards

Quite a setup: how did you get RGB from your Raspberry PI?
Other than that should work, maybe will require minor tweaks.

Update: 50% of units are ready to ship, tracking numbers have been printed and this big batch will be dropped off to post office tomorrow morning. The remaining units will be shipped this week. Thanks everybody for being patient, I was working hard on a weekend and will do my best to have the rest shipped ASAP.

Some models output composite video. Then just add a composite-to-SCART adapter.

Hm, but doesn't a Sync Strike remove composite video by converting it to clean CSYNC?

Edit: There's also the Pi2Jamma for true RGB.

Yeah. If I was going digital the OSSC or Framemeister would be the way to go, but since I need an analog signal, my options are limited. After some more research, it looks like the XRGB-3 would probably be my best option. This bad boy acts as both a line doubler and a scan line generator at the same time and has both digital and analog outputs. Only probably is it goes for upwards of $200 used in auctions, so it's not exactly cheap. I may just forget about adding scan lines since the picture still looks great without them and I don't know if it's worth spending hundreds of dollars on such a minor improvement. But then again, that's the whole reason we're in this hobby in the first place, so I'll probably budge in the long run.

Any chance another pre-order will be listed before the end of year? I've been checking back weekly, but if there's no chance of another pre-order in 2016 I'll abandon my efforts until January.

    Thank you!

You're mean you use some active IC to split Composite to SCART-RGB, is that right?

It does. The whole point is to have RGB-SCART switching, composite itself is useless.

I will need some rest, next batch will be early next year, also I want to focus a bit on gcompsw and other small things this year.

I've been checking this thread about once an hour for the past few days in hope that there'll be an extra gscartsw available for purchase after you're done shipping all the pre-orders. Would be so awesome to have my setup complete before christmas! :)

Have you thought about offering unassembled switches? I know a lot of us do our own mods and would probably be able to put it together with some minor instructions. Just a thought. Thanks

Hi Thanks for the answer, I will wait for my turn for the next batch what kind of tweaks would I need to prepare ?

For the Raspberry pi it's a simple setup : I use a Ugreen HDMI>VGA adapter from Amazon, and a VGA>Scart adapter that I ordered from Retrocables.es, it has two resistors on the H+V lines before combining them. Then you must configure RPI to output 240p with this line in config.txt hdmi_cvt=1920 240 60 you also need some other options, check the raspberry pi config.txt wiki depending on your setup. Then you must choose this custom resolution for Retroarch it is DMT=87, and a 480i CEA=6 mode for Emulationstation. It's far better than composite which is absolutely useless.

You have another option, using the Gert VGA666 on the GPIO to output VGA.

Check this thread if you can read french, I have launched it this summer.

    Raspberry Pi in RGB rocks.

Just got my switch and it is absolutely awesome! One small issue I noted is that I seem to get a flicker at the top of the screen when playing certain games on my RGB modded NES (SMB, SMB2, SMB3). Nothing else I have tried has had any kind of issue (SNES, N64, Genesis). When I connect my NES straight to my SCART to HDMI upscaler, the flicker disappears. I'm thinking the culprit is the cheap scart to scart cable I have to connect the switch to the upscaler. Anyone else solved this issue? Any recommendations on a good SCART to SCART cable to connect the switch to the upscaler?

    I whole-heartedly recommend this https://www.retrogamingcables.co.uk...-to-euroscart-male-rgb-scart-cable-packapunch

But they are out of stock? Damn, I have one, need another...when I didn't use it, l had noise/buzzing and a diminished quality picture (not as bright). Have to email them and ask when they will have more in stock.
