The spreadsheet is already fantastic, with tons of stuff. Congrats to all that helped adding missing items, id codes, release dates. I put an X on two items that i own, but had forgotten to confirm. PS: Anyone saw new screens / videos of GT5 on GamesCom? I'm somewhat dissapointed with the damage system and the (still) dumb AI. In one video, the car spins and the car behind had time to break or avoid collision. Still, like previous GT's it followed a rail and crashed into it like there wasn't anything there. Hope that demo doesn't represent the actual stage of development, but i'm still disappointed.
edward_v12 has finished editing the spreadsheet and he is going to add the photos to his archive on yahoo photo. And about GT5, i am also disappointed with the videos on GamesCom and I guess that the guys at PD understood the term AI as "Artificial Idiocity".
After seeing Ortus' collection, I was inspired and am starting to do some collecting my self. Any help I can provide I will.
Yes, I've got lots of stuff sorted out now as far as PHP & MySQL goes, but I would need the link to the spreadsheet to access the information and upload it to try out some stuff, and to see if I have to add any extra fields, etc. As far as online editing goes, for now I believe I'll stick to each of you having some sort of admin account, and not allowing general public to upload pictures or anything because that can turn out nasty. For the categories, I thought it out like this: you click on Gran Turismo 2 for example, and on the main page you get a list of all GT2 related stuff where you can choose which way to go. Right now I'm working on making the upload & editing parts the most user friendly as possible so you guys don't have much trouble with it. (The early build I made was just plain text and html code). If possible post the link to the spreadsheet or send it to me via PM. PS: It's still going to take me some time to finish it as for the moment I've got a crapload of things to do for the university as well, so I'm working really slow on this.
That's great Tchoin. For the spreadsheet link, you'll need to contact ortus by PM. He was the one who created the file on GoogleDocs and shared with us. Don't worry about the time. Important things first, so concentrate on your university stuff. I only asked for news, because you hadn't posted for a while.
Hey guys, i just updated the spreadsheet with a GT PSP section. Added only the things known: UMD being released in US, Japan, Asia and Europe, the European collectors edition, the european PSP bundle and PSPGo bundles (for all regions - have to re-check this). Also, got the serial code for the Japanese UMD release on Play-Asia. Please check everything to be sure i didn't messed the whole thing.
Hey Johnny, I also added "Gran Turismo Promo Store DVD" and its serial code in the PSP section, but i am not sure about the release date.
I finally got round to adding the rest of my stuff to the spreadsheet. There are a couple of item that i need to check the serial numbers on and add to the sheet (GT3 Logitec wheel & PS3 40gb GT5prologue pack) but cant be arsed to go in the loft right now. I will do it over the next few days. Should have some more GT PSP stuff by then aswell.
A question for all GT collectors. I noticed that somebody has added the following item "Gran Turismo Red Arai Helmet for prize London event" to the spreadsheet i assume it is the following helemt: Does anybody have any further information on this, is it a 1 off? I think i remember seeing 1 on ebay going for £500ish but i could be wrong. The GT PSP promo video shows the 2 guys at Leguna Seca in GT helmets and Sparco GT race suits. I cant think of anything much better for a GT collector to own - ok maybe i can but the 350z GT edition is a bit over budget at the moment. I have searched google but have been unable to find anything, anybody know anything of these items?
Anyone willing to get the ultimate Gran Turismo "merchandise"? http://www.motorsportads.com/crash/race-cars/gt-sports-cars/18183.html GT Academy Nissan 350Z (GT4 Championship) :110:
Any lucky ones living in the US? http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/10/we’re-looking-for-the-ultimate-gran-turismo-fan/ Rules: http://www.us.playstation.com/gtpspgiveawaycontestrules/ Wish i could participate on that...
Hi guys, I have done a preliminary work in order to make you concentrate on working this GT info site. I've used the categorization which we are using on the spreadsheet and edward_v12's old photos. I hope he does not mind The template is one of the joomla's default templates, but it is easily customizable. Now there are only articles about first GT's retail versions. Here the link is : http://kdturkay.byethost7.com/GTCollectors/ Maybe we should ask Assembler for hosting. What should we have for a better information source, in the means of the articles' content?
That's amazing ortus. Apart from some tweaking on the layout of the item info, you understood what i had planned on my mind. Of course extra areas like Articles, Reviews, and Latest News would be added later. The article section could have articles made by us, or found on the net. Reviews would work the same way. And Latest News would be just to post news about Gran Turismo (like gtplanet.net) with proper archives. Any ideas of free hosts with decent capacity? Kevin said we can have a url like gtcollectors.assemblergames.com ,so hosting would be our main concern. Again, amazing work.
