Do you have any idea of what he paid for it? Hell, if I found $200 in coins inside my cab (don't have one at the moment... I can dream...) I would be very happy with my purchase
Happ Controls (aka Suzo UK) have nothing in-stock either. :katamari: I did however obtain a new set of Cam locks for the coin drawer, the C220 coin validator and the rear cab lock. Sadly I'll have 3 different locks requiring 3 different keys, but better than nothing. In order to change 1 little coin validator wedge bulb I had to go in from the back of the unit, remove the System 22, take out some cables, remove the Test switch / Volume PCB and literally unscrew the back off the camlock. A bit cramped in there. Ultimately this is becoming the largest Piggy Bank on record lol
Yep sorry chap, been a lot going on my end, will start a thread about it al soon! . hope you and yours are doing well!
Right, I have located a company based very, very close to Kiff who might have some spare parts for Ridge Racer sit down cab. They aren't very good at replying to emails, but they did mention gearing. Back with more news soon!
I'm hoping you manage to make a total restoration Parris. The last time i saw one of those was about 10 years ago.
That'll be about the last time anyone saw any spare parts lol - thanks! Looking forward to some kind of output. Anything would be nice!
If only they used a 2 way or 4 way stick then you would have been done ages ago. Anyway hope you source a spare.
Typical eh! Also still waiting to hear back from the guy repairing the Hantarex chassis. In the meantime, is there any other way (for instance if the monitor is totally dead) that I would be able to output the video signal to something like a standard CRT monitor? What sort of harness would I be looking for? Curious as I don't really know much about non-Jamma stuff having just got to grips with Jamma!
Check these places. Maybe they can help you. http://www.competitiveproducts.com/index.php Has the Daytona gear shifter. Maybe he can help you find the Ridge Racer one. http://www.manjiro.com/index.html Sells new and used arcade. Maybe can help to find parts, since they have older games (even Virtua Racing) http://www.coinopexpress.com/products/parts/driving_parts.html This one has a generic gear shifter (high / low) that looks like the one from Pole Position. http://www.rs2006.co.jp/overseas.htm] Sells arcade parts
You'd need to use an RGB->NTSC (or PAL) converter to be able to display on a standard TV. If you have an RGB monitor, you can output directly to that, though.
Right, I have atleast discovered the main issue with the monitor. It has a dead Flyback (Line Output) transformer. Model Number: 28029890, chassis family 63200900. Hantarex Polo monitor. Possibly made by Mitsubishi. For anyone else who obtains one with the same faulty part. ....and Hantarex have them in stock for £35. inc VAT.
That's not too bad, it's a fairly easy part to find and the flyback from any Hantarex Polo chassis > 26" will work fine.
Looking around for any old Hantarex Polo chassis with a working flyback, or go direct to the horses mouth and get a brand new one that might last several years longer? I think I might spend the extra cash actually. I'd probably pay extra for a whole chassis to be sent to me than accept the one part from Hantarex. BTW, just for the record the usage counter on the unit states that the game has run 237,000 times! That's a pretty good innings in my book.
And Brent Leisure sold me their last one. Didn't need to open an account, which is why I had to pass getting it from Hantarex. Slightly more expensive at £38 + VAT. I hope this is the end of the monitor sh*t! I tell thee :banghead:
For future reference Parris, you can always make a quick adapter so the video goes to your supergun. Of course, I dont know what the harness looks like, but you can always reroute it / solder something quick if needed
Potentially an original gear shift available in Yorkshire. Chasing that one at the moment.
The Hantarex chassis on the green plug from left to right as you look at it from the back of the cabinet (ie from your picture) is C-Sync / H-Sync V-Sync (not needed if using C-Sync) Ground Blue Green Red I did that from memory and double checked and it's correct. http://www.jomac.net.au/Hantarex-Polo2.JPG So by getting some thickish solid core wire and a SCART lead you should be able to make up a simple adapter to test it with.
