I was quite shocked when I saw that video, I was always drooling on the magazine pictures back in the days, I knew they were renders of some sort, but still hoped to see the game come out. I making a little blog post about this... I've never seen videos or pictures of Tengai Makyou III Namida for PC-FX, I agree it would have been similar to IV, there are videos of the intro but that's about it, I think don't think it reached a very advanced stage of development. I still have these PC-FXGA videos on my hard drive, I can re-up them, I need to rebuild my PC-FXGA PC at some stage, there are more videos to make
Here is another one of my holy grails (like many people), the SFC CD, here is a mockup made by a chap called Haru (http://haruko-maru.blogspot.co.uk/). Pretty cool hey?
The irony here is that the SNES CD addon was supposed to use the same exact CPU which would eventually power on the PC-FX. Another piece of Nintendo hardware however did really end up using it although slightly underclocked: Virtual Boy.
That picture above has got me thinking.... Has anyone ever seen a branded electronic device with 'two' brand names printed on it? I honestly can't think of any.
I guess you learn something everyday, I didn't know the SNES CD was to be powered by a V810, I knew about the VB. It would have interested to see how they would have architected the games with 2 different CPUs. Intereting
My cablebox says "Comcast" & "Motorola" on it. My old phone says "Verizon" & "Samsung" on it. This korean AES has "SNK" and "vic-a" on it http://www.neostore.com/v/vspfiles/photos/products/systems/korean-aes.jpg You're right though, I expected things like the Panasonic Q, that Sharp TV with the built in famicom, V- & Hi- Saturns, X'eye, etc, to be dual branded.
More footage of Hi-Ten Bomberman, w/ screen capture; Prototype of Super Mario Bros, concepts and more; The Brown Box; Sonic 1 and X-Treme Beta; And an flash-cart for my Pokémon mini...
Nintendo 64DD, anyone? I have one with the original shipping box. Chrono Trigger: Resurrection? I know it never saw the light of day, and doesn't have a physical copy... but you never know who may have a copy. PS2 Dev kit?
Speaking of the VirtualBoy, I still have to see prototypes particularly the early ones before the specs got toned down to make it cheaper and a companion rather than a alternative to the Ultra64
I'm bringing them back up, I've uploading 2 of them on Vimeo, will do more but I need to do some editing first, shouldn't be too long though: https://vimeo.com/88180437 https://vimeo.com/88180436
My holy grail isn't ultra obscure or rare, but I would someday really like to own a CIB copy of All Night Nippon Super Mario Bros. for the Famicom Disk System (with all original paperwork, sticker on floppy disk etc.)
Asian Exclusive Games (Zemina I'm looking at you); Not only they're hellishly hard to find but they have moonrunes as written language locking out 99% of the westerners to enjoy most of the games.
Oh, me too! It's the last version of a Mario game for the Famicom which I'm missing I think it's pretty rare though. Would be one of the holy grails for FC for sure!
Even if I somehow had the $1000 to waste on this item, I'd still be reluctant because it's on disk. All you need to ruin your purchase is a guy on the post office having fun with magnets lol.
