Yes, but isnt it curious that once the marketing, licensed songs, hype and overall trendiness of the game started to kick in, GH3 sold more than GH1 and 2 combined?

To show you how overblown the entire concept was thanks to the boys at the sales dept. Rockband while being one of the biggest names in the industry was actually deficitary, because of the cost of developing all that plastic crap that came with the came.

It's neither ironically nor literally "curious". As soon as Guitar Hero became a success, it sold more, and more advertising and investment accompanied it. Pretty standard all round, I'd say.

Great games, too - the third may even be my favourite, as blasphemous as that is to many GH fans.

Sad but true. Sega is a company full of sucessful franchises, but most of them are locked in a vault somehwere. The people who own / runs the company today don't know they could be making lots of money, instead of just re-releasing emulator packs or low quality ports.

They prefer to do crap like R-Tuned and SegaRaceTV (arcades) or buy licenses of movie to try to cash in on their success. Aliens Vs. Predator, Iron man and Iron Man 2, Planet 51, Captain America,...

PS: How they got the Aliens: Colonial Marines license?! :-(

Also, they are now trying to become a random developer by making games like Bayonetta, Alpha Protocol, Vanquish,... They don't do anything interesting anymore.

Nintendo realy know how to make profit of their own franchises, while Sega does the opposite. They can't even make a decent Sonic game since the 90's!

To be honest, Sega is the new Atari. Everybody knows how important they were, but they don't give a f*** about them anymore. It's something left in the past.

Actually, the big names from Team Andromeda either left with Yukio Futatsugi or went off with Yoji Ishii to form Artoon. ;-)

Team Andromeda members went many different ways after its disbanding, though I completely forgot that some also joined Naoto Ohshima and Yoji Ishii at Artoon! On the subject of Andromeda's work, did you know the camera system developed for Panzer Dragoon Saga was later recycled for the Dreamcast tech demo known as "Tower of Babel" and finally in Shenmue?
