How many of you have Facebook/Myspace accounts?

I wanted to ask you becos it seems everybody I know and their dogs (this time is literally their dogs:lol have accounts in one (or both) of these social networking (SN) sites.

Last week I read that for people between 18 and 24 years old (I'm 20 btw) SN is above porn. In fact porn is just 4th, with SN first, search engines 2nd and web email 3rd.

While I've to agree with some of those numbers (like search engines and web email) is just crazy that so many people get into these new sites.

Dunno, I got an account on Myspace when it was "that little site" and got like 50 new friends in like 2 hours, then I got bored and never went back (I must have like 200 millions now:lol::dance.

So, is anyone here a Myspace/Facebook user?

 

Yeah I have both, although I only really visit the Myspace account on a regular basis.

It's actually been pretty cool, Myspace got me in touch with some old friends I haven't seen in years, and almost got me a job with South Park (there's always next season...)

 

In the south park staff? really? but what was the position? like voice.over actor, or something higher?

I have a myspace and facebook account, mainly because of friends getting me to sign up for it.

Myspace is alright. Facebook is lame though.

 

You know is funny you mention that cuz anywhere I read experts and analists say Facebook is becoming more popular and dynamic while Myspace seems to have stalled or is already decaying.

I'm getting into Facebook to see what the fuzz is all about...

 

I signed up for Facebook because most of my friends had it and were bugging me to get it. I also have MySpace to get in touch with some family members I hadn't talked it in ages. I rarely log into my MySpace account though. I get on Facebook at least once a day to check for messages from some campus clubs I'm part of, etc. I'm not really big into the SN thing though, and I rarely spend more than a few minutes on either account when I actually do log in.

 

Beyond the actual usefull functions of these SN sites (getting in touch with friends, know about events) it looks like the only reason why theres so much hype between companies to jump into this scheme is the huge amounts of spam and ads you can pump into people/s homes through this kind of media.

Just check facebook's marketplace (which btw looks like a complete ripoff of craigslist) or myspace, thats now property of newscorp (Fox and stuff).

 

I've had a MySpace for a couple years now. And I got a Facebook when I started school because it used to be you had to be attending some sort of college to join but now, ANYONE can join...

I only use MySpace for music. I've found a lot of cool bands on there. And it keeps me up to date on tour dates and such. Facebook I use more regularly, but just when someone messages me or something. There's not much to do on there...

 

Got myspace, but for my sake and some of my friends on it, I won't post it.

 

I've got both, but I mainly use MySpace for checking up on local shows. I prefer MySpace out of the two, since Facebook has recently gotten very cluttered with "applications" (or you could call it spam if you like). I must get 20 invitations a week to "be a zombie" or some other stupid crap.

 

Weird, almost every article I read says the opposite (that Myspace is full of spam and that those apps at Facebook are teh sh1t!).

 

I signed up to MySpace once while drunk, mainly because I was very drunk, and I wanted to look at all the goth girls galleries... *ahem*

 

I got a facebook,Myspace,Bebo,Vampirefreaks and quite a few others. I only ever use them to keep in contact with my friends mainly diffrent freinds on each.

After my first 1 or 2 mins on Facebook i took to really hating which i will not go into but that is why i stayed on it for 30-45 mins after that.

 

I wonder who's the one that "friggin lives" in these sites...

 

I see no point in them so I don't have one.

I have no interest in any of these types of SN sites. The very idea of posting about your life for total strangers to read about is just beyond me.

 

i have a myspace page which is visited once a month, but only to check up on my mates band, used to use netlog, but its full of camwankers and perverts so closed my account

 

i have both but my dog has a facebook lol

 

Which is exactly why I have both my Facebook and MySpace set to "private." Every so often I'll get rid of anything incriminating on my MySpace and make it public to see who bites, but it doesn't stay that way for very long.
