My friends hassled me to get myspace and facebook. I caved to facebook, but deleted it after a bit because it turned into myspace, and I had to make a myspace account because I got in contact with my dad who I have never met on there. I haven't checked it since that though. There useful for stuff like that but otherwise they annoy me.

The "apps" on Facebook are utter garbage.

Also, you can design myspace with HTML, as well as use HTML in comments and such.

This is not true of Facebook.

Which is why millions get infected with viruses thanks to malicious HTML code embedded onto fake user profiles.

It was for sotryboards, apparently every season a few of thier storyboard guys leave. So I went down and dropped off a portfolio, problem is there were 350 other guys who did the same (many who do this for a living.) Thing is they don't even advertise any open positions, it's all word of mouth. You can't even get thier address though the website or anything, you just have to know someone. There's always next season.

My friend's job on the show is to match up the mouth movements of the characters with dialouge. I hadn't seen the guy in years before Myspace- he also worked on the Grindhouse movie and a few other independent projects.

It's funny, the studio is like in the middle of the ghetto, graffitti and trash everywhere, then the studio is this large modern glass buidling that sticks out like a sore thumb, with life size statues of the Southpark kids in the lobby (I didn't get to see anything past the lobby however.)

That was me :) I do check in at least once a day, I guess that counts as "friggin" lives" there.

I thought the studio was located in NYC and not in LA.

Oh well, I guess the location of the studio is mainly for the cheap price they paid for the land.

I have both, but Myspace has gotten stagnate recently, and everyone I know has now migrated to Facebook Mainly because -
-You Don't get some wanker's shite music blasted at you when you go to anyones profile
-Photos are much, much better handled on Facebook (Photo Tagging FTW!)
-We all signed up before they buggered about with the annoying applications - For reference I have only signed up to 2 extra applications sicne - Red Bull Roshambull, because its a laugh, and Superpoke for the same reasons.

I selected I live there too - normally check it 2x/day.

Lol, I remember that. I took a pic of my bathroom and tagged all my friends as different appliances like the toilet, tub, trashcan, and towel. It was funny.

You only have to worry about this if you're an idiot.

Scenario: "FREE MACY'S GIFT CARD CLICK HERE"
Idiot: "All I have to do is enter my email address and MySpace password? Sweet..."

Then there are the fake login pages that you'll get sent to if you click the wrong thing. Again, if you click something that obviously doesn't have anything to do with MySpace and you put in your information, it's your own damn fault.

I'm kind of bitter on this subject, just because I hear so much about "MY MYSPACE GOT HACKED." No, it didn't. You gave them your information.

As far as Facebook photo tagging... let's just say there have been more photographs taken of me than I remember. Luckily nothing too incriminating has gone up just yet.

I've had a Facebook account for about 3 years now.

I refuse to sign up for MySpace in protest of the allowing of horrible and impossible to read layouts.

There's that, but there are pages, where the profile itself, you know how you can get custom graphics, etc on your profile? A lot of them load from other servers. There are pages out there that literally load up and install viruses just by viewing the webpage. I've come across these on other systems. That's what I'm talking about.

They have been cracking down more on those than what you're mentioning.

I don't use facebook. All my friends are on myspace.

Nothing personal to henners, but now I know why I've never heard HORSE the band. They sound like Atreyu with synthesizers :\

I'll make mine public for a little while, just for shits n' giggles.

Don't be insulted if I don't accept a friend request; I try to keep it limited to people I actually know, although one or two will slip in now and again.

I'm not really interested in Myspace or Facebook.

I was on tagged for a bit though. I think all did was make a profile and never go back.

Call me oldschool but I still believe the Net should be more of a professional tool than just a place to try to meet people.

For once I think it would be cool that someone made a SN site that wasnt solely based around the idea of "making friends". Like a specialized SN site made for tech and science stuff, or one for economy and business.

So far I know theres a SN site based around work relations, but in fact is like facebook, just that instead of being in college you need to be working in some company.

Then theres the crappy ones, which are nothing but an example of minimum effort put in hope of making a quick buck out of this Web2.0 crazines. For example, theres this one about cars but is just a corporate newsreel with the option to create a profile, upload photos and make your own blog. Very limited if you ask me, more like a "Web1.5" thing.

Honestly I've no idea: I just got an account yesterday and havent check that stuff yet....

    Is the most logical explanation...

The problem is voyeurism: that shit is all the rage these days...

Eco's made it simple to understand in his last book: people see a star (like tom cruise) making extremely private stuff public (like that he eated his daughter's placenta) and suddenly everybody is talking about the douchebag and some even "understand" him:rolleyes:

Stupid, non-famous people believe that if they show their wreck-of-a-live to more people, they will be somewhat famous and even loved...

    Weird, I know...

Whoa I tought they were a little more open, but that sounds like the movie industry from 30 years ago...

Anyway, by frigging living there I meant those guys that actually spend several hours a day uploading stuff to their profiles and sending friend requests, but thats ok.
