@MetalSlime: Not in my place. (I'll just have it modified).

@Warakia: Spike hair or flat hair or something as crazy as anime hair?

It is probably a rare thing for an otaku to speak with others outside his box... and wear that kind of fashion.

I just came back from dinner at Aloha Tower. There was a shop in there that was clearly inspired by the Goth Loli meets Hello Kitty on Acid trend.

Did you emerge from it covered in merchandise?

He probably has a secret technique....

Gaijin Perimeter - This is the gaijin's natural ability to just repel people.

@bhl88 - I just meant that most gaijin do not have long enough hair, or hair in good enough condition to pull off Japanese fashion very well.

For example the standard template for 95 percent of Japanese hair is to have relatively short hair at the front (maybe eye-level) and then shoulder length at the back. That is both how you get your killer volume or very sleek gothic look.

    Example -

http://mennaku.net/mens/enquete.php You can see clearly in this picture the length at the back. Gaijin complain to me that their hair is hard to style Japanese style. Well that is because they do not have the ratio of front to back.

I can say that some attractive Japanese women like a hairy Gaijin! ;)

Hell even the tattoo's attracted a few conversations.

It was after 4PM in Hawaii... they were closed. ;)

Yet ask a random Japanese person and they're envious of gaijin hair. I got that a lot anyway.

Haha... yeah, I talked to a friend of mine's ex and she said she was into, sweaty, hairy guys. I was like, "Fuck... where were you 10 years ago?!". I think she was in junior high if I'm not mistaken. O_O

With Yakumo on the fashion thing; maybe it's a Brit thing?

I find having a good body is more useful than having the latest tshirt or shirt. My clothes are from Primark or H&M (budget shops) and it really doesn't matter one bit. The girls you want to stay with won't be the ones that care about that stuff. The ones you want for sex are the ones you get my being ripped (or shaving arm hair apparently?).

Fashion's a waste of time. There's being smart and respectable looking, and then there's being a right soft-ass and waxing your arms or worrying about which shirt to wear.

H&M is quite fashionable... it's just not ridiculously expensive. I always stop by when I go to NY.

Yes, well said. :/ I'm sure there's merely a huge percentage of the Earth that would say the same about video games. And, well, they'd be right for the most part.

    @sonic_shuffle - I am a brit too!

I know only too well what the average Brit rates to fashion... And yeah in England you really do not have to care about fashion to be a success with the opposite sex.

But having been at a Japanese university surrounded by attractive girls 5 days a week, 'avin it right off every weekend and in a serious relationship with a model I will stick my neck out and say that you gotta make the effort in Tokyo!

Yeah there will be girls into the gaijin look. But if you want to date a girl who is not pre-disposed to liking gaijin you will have to play by the same rules Japanese guys have to play by. And it is worth the effort.

I did not start all this taking care of myself till I was working as a model. But now I can't go back. It is very addictive.

And do not get me started on body image in Japan. (non-gaijin loving) Japanese girls want a manyto have almost no muscle! I go to the gym a couple of times a week and my girlfiriend tells me my muscles are too big! And that is not rare. They seem to want hardly any muscles or fat at all. You see the guys on Japanese TV with bodies like girls, particularly their stomachs and hips! Check out the body of the guy in the link I posted before. That is pretty close to the ideal!

So yeah, lets not get heated. Each to their own. I have had this conversation with so many guys especially when a group of models go out with non-models the non-models always try to out alpha-male the models. just look at Russell Brand. Some may say he is a bit of a tit, but the tarts love him!

I know that i'll sound a bit gay, but I want a photo of Warakia dressed like an Shinjuku host; I don't like the style for me, but I find it interesting. Talking about how we dress; always black, with white socks. The only "expensive" brands that I buy are Fred Perry, Levi's, Merc and Alain Mikli. As some said, the way you dress reflects your personality, but sometimes it might be misunderstood, many people thinks that I'm a pop guy, when I listen to noise rock or metal XD

    Sup :)

Well, I am not after a Japanese girl... I like Japan, but I am not really after a Japanese girlfriend as such. In the same way that a lot of them want a westerner, a lot of western guys want 'exotic' women. I think Europe is full of hot women.

As for fashion being a waste of time - maybe a touch blazé, but I just think people worry about it a bit too much. Anyway, ranting...

Cheeky sod, I aint (that) fat, or sweaty!

If I was going to, I could have got quite a few nice ladies on that trip!

One wanted me to stay, but she was 30 something, so I think anyone could have flirted with her and she would have said yes!

It's quite funny/sad the old "if you aren't married by 28 there's something wrong with you" thing.

    1: gain some muscle
2: buy a 3-pack set of nice fitting white tees
    3: profit!

edit: forgot to mention, most skinny guys tend to spend more money on clothing, so if you gain some weight you'll be able to get the large size clothing on sale for cheaps ;).

Hah! I will consider posting a pic if I cannot be identified from it! As part of my agency I have to keep an "official" blog and they would not want me rumbled!

Anyhoo I am glad to say I wear either Japan small or medium. How I giggle as most foreign man grapple with the Japanese XL (=American Small) Though length of jeans is an issue. They usually end up tucked into my boots.
