I waited ten years to find a Sega Saturn Mastering unit

sorry for your loss,
a long time ago i was away on work and my girlfriend sent me some cookies in the mail, she didnt use any bubble wrap or packaging material and they arrived as a bag full of crumbs. i ate it all anyways and told her they were delicious, but ever since then i have started hording bubble wrap.

 

Same here :lol: I hang on to all the bubble wrap I get when I buy stuff.

 

At our local USPS all packages get thrown in a cart that is then lifted by fork and dumped 4ft onto a conveyer to go through sort.

There are no words or stickers that will help, if it's not certified or registered mail it gets dropped at least one time to run through the sort.

 

I hope there's a special circle of hell reserved for people who destroy rarities with awesome stupidity.

 

It's a shame that you spend so much money buying something, but the seller doesn't take any care packaging it.

I hate this as much as when the seller, once he has sent the package, decides to wash his hands when it's time to claim to the post company because the parcel got lost. I know that he has no direct responsibility but, at least, he should do the effort to claim (the contract is between him and the company, so you can't).

I bought a brand new X'Eye some years ago and, because of the laziness of that man, it got stuck in New York. No idea what happened later. He not only ignored me for months but accused me of trying to scam him... In-cre-di-ble ¬_¬ .

 

Any good X'Eye related news these days is a wondrous event. That's one cursed console, little besides trouble when they're involved. I wouldn't recommend it either. A very brief former defective unit owner myself. Dunno if the buyer succeeded in their intended repair attempt, never asked them.

 

Could have been worse at least it was a Sega Saturn item !

Which reminds me to ask, came accross any Saturn stuff lately? ;-)

 

Was this drive able to burn the security ring?

 

It could help in reverse engeneering Saturn Copy protection.

 

Not really it is just a CD burner just like any other. The only difference being that particular model was endorsed by Sega, which makes it necessary to complete a development collection.

 

We have different definitions of "complete loss".

Yours seems to be "I turned it on and it didnt work - COMPLETE LOSS".

 

Hey assembler do you still have the mastering unit cause if you do I might be able to fix it for you pm me if you need more info.

That includes worldwide shipping. He has a caddy from the broken one - this is just a replacement drive.

 

IIRC that is the same drive that has firmware floating around to "enable" it to burn GD-Rs. Don't believe it actually can do that though.
